Never heard of editing causing this, so it could be something else.
For example
here, similar words to yours, back in 2019, original Windows.
- One of first results online is that the disk needs wiping, or converting to EFI/MBR, depending if you boot UEFI.
Try
this, excluding points about downloading ISO, also careful if you have stuff on that drive, other partitions etc.
Haven't confirmed that, as I never saw that error, but do let me know if you find the solution, or even the exact operation on an image that can also cause it.
- Make sure to try with and without the Dynamic Update package, if you're updating/didn't update the ISO.
That's the only step that comes to mind that might influence this, not confirmed.
- Or try to flash the ISO to USB and boot from it, might skip this setup.exe issue in this particular situation.
