Hi,

Windows 11 build (10.0.22000.194)

When NTLite is fisnishing his task, I got an error:

Capture d’écran 2021-10-08 130117.png

This error is displayed after that explorer.exe have crashed.

This happen using Stardock Start11 or StartAllBack start menu replacement.

If I revert to stock windows 11, everything is fine.

Thank you.

Start menu apps shouldn't interfere with NTLite, unless it's trying to open NTLite's temp folder while processing.
Explorer crashed, looks like Start11 or StartAllBack is fighting over a folder. Check for folder shortcuts, and clear Recent Folder views.

Hi,

when you say revert to stock, does that mean clean reinstall, or just uninstalled these apps?
Maybe something else is also installed, that is not on stock.
Message suggests a busy file, something locked on, or you kept Explorer open on the mount directory

Hi,

I got the error even with the stock windows 11 start menu.
I found that it is when I use the Reaply tasks across editions option.
The crash is while NTLite save the boot.wim image.

My source has only the enterprise image, I have removed all the other editions.

Thanks.

Do you have anti-virus enabled or some other application that scans for new files or folders?
This looks very like Kjell's thread, explorer is not part of a normal process run.

Download ProcMon64, run it as Administrator and create two new filter rules:

Path / begins with / E:\Temp\NTLite\NLTmpMnt03 (or wherever) / then Include
Process / begins with / NTLite / then Exclude

The square box in the menu bar switches tracing on/off. Edit/Clear Display will reset the event buffer.
Reset the buffer, turn on tracing and begin processing in NTLite. Find out which processes other than NTLite (or DISM) is referencing that folder.

EDIT: Maybe add the E:\w11\Sources folder as another filter rule, in case it's touching the WIMs.

I think that I found the culprit, Antidote Gramatical corrector.

Do not ask me why, removing it from the startup and everything is fine.

Thank you for your support.
