What and why not to remove [Win 7]

What about Natural Language? "Shell Search - Windows Search - Natural Language - Natural Language 32bit"
at 666.50MB is a prime candidate for removal if its not needed.
The title says not to remove, what I'm missing?

Hi, when I am using VLC instead of any windows related media-support, do I really need the "Enhanced Video Renderer (EVR)" option? It seems to me it only applies to the windows media features but not from 3rd party programms or am I wrong?

I don't think I recall anyone using EVR directly.

It's one of those technologies which probably got ignored in favor of GPU-based HW acceleration. You need the other Media Foundation building blocks for app compatibility reasons, but EVR can be safely removed.

Enhanced Video Renderer - EVR. MPC HC includes "MadVR". Source. EVR maybe safe to remove.
MPC HC maybe discontinued. Source. MPC BE(Black Edition) appears to be active.
MPC HC includes MadVR but MPC BE doesnt not, you need to download it seperately.
VLC needs EVR. Reaper DAW may need EVR as it has native video support.
Video conversion stuff like Handbrake may also need it.
To be honest its a small component and not worth worrying about when there are much bigger fish to fry.

Not directly, stuff piggybacks on it. VLC+EVR was discussed moons ago when we were still on ntlite 1.2x branch and i was bareboning the living daylights out of windows 7 to within an inch of its life.

That was back in 2009. VLC needed EVR back when i was bareboning w7, people are still on 7.
Newer VLCs on later w10 and on w11 may or may not need it.
