Some problems on Windows 10 1903 Enterprise x64 pt-pt (18362.239)

So, I did a clean Windows 10 1903 18362.1 Build Enterprise x64 pt-pt install (with KB4507453 integrated so it makes it the 18362.239 build) on the host and on a VM created by Hyper-V and I'm having some problems.

After disabling the search box the taskbar looks weird. This problem doesn't happen if I do a clean install using an untouched image both on the host and on a VM.

I can't remove modern apps' shortcuts from the Start Menu. I have these remaining shortcuts because for some reason after removing some apps their shortcuts didn't go away.

Windows Sandbox is very slow.

It seems 1903 support is still in progress. I also had this problem with the Start Menu, in which the search interface was blank. Programs and Features didn't work either. I reported those problems here.

I didn't check Programs and Features but do you have the other problems I do?

I cannot test the sandbox thing since Hyper-V is one of the things I rip out of the image, and I have blocked Windows Update at router level, so I don't know what happens with them. I have read, though, that installing cumulative updates will restore deleted components in 1903. Now I am removing groups of components one at a time so I can find where is the problem.

What does Hyper-V have to do with Windows Sandbox?

I didn't integrate an update, installed one via WU, restarted the host and the VM like WU asked and I got Windows Security back when I had removed it with NTLite.

That's what I was talking about. Installing cumulative updates (not integrating them) will resurrect removed components.

Well, now I have narrowed down the list. Local search in the Start Menu broke down after removing one of these components:

        <c>asimov 'Unified Telemetry Client (Asimov)'</c>

What if I install the latest CU after downloading it from Microsoft Update Catalog and maybe without having integrated a CU before? And may this problem happen with integrated (or not) updates other than CU and when installing (via WU or not) updates which aren't CU? I guess there are a lot of possibilities.

About the components you mentioned, I think I only removed Homegroup and the AssignedAccessLockApp but like I've told before I don't have that problem after restarting the VM.

EDIT: I don't have the Programs and Features problem. I can run it via Control Panel and the Settings app without any problem.

It's Telemetry, fixed in the next release, out tonight. Thanks.

I'm having a lot of bugs on Windows 10 1903 18362.1 Build Enterprise x64 pt-pt after a clean install on a VM (I used Hyper-V).

The Advanced Startup feature doesn't show up below the Reset this PC one, when typing something's name on the Start Menu nothing shows up (although if I click on "Enter" it opens whatever I typed if it exists, obviously), nothing happens if I copy some folders from the host to the VM (maybe it has to do with the size) and when I open Sandbox it states "No hypervisor was found. Please enable hypervisor support” (this last problem might happen because it's being executed on a VM).

EDIT: Weird, I restarted Windows 10 (the one from the VM) and now I don't have the Start Menu problem!

EDIT 2: So, this time I didn't integrate an update, installed a CU via WU, restarted Windows 10 (the one from the VM) since WU asked me and now I have Windows Defender Security Center!
Try not disabling any services on the image, those are tricky to do on the image as it may block normal deployment.

Yes, installing CU on 1903 returns updated component pieces. A workaround is added in the next update tonight, if removing components with that new version, you can easily clean it with a single click.

I didn't remove it and I still had the problem.

On NTLite? But I need to disable them. What do you mean by easy clean it with a single click?

If you need to, do it after setup, at least to see if that breaks the search, as search works here even with a lot of removals.

I didn't remove Telemetry since I can't (I don't have a paid license) and I didn't disable any Service or Extra Service and I still had the problem (both on an untouched and on an edited images) until I restarted Windows for the first time after installing it.

EDIT: I no longer have the Telemetry and the search box problems and I'm not having the remaining apps' shortcuts on the start menu problem.

EDIT 2: I installed Windows 11 and Windows Sandbox is no longer very slow.
