Once finished litin your OS source and if the updates don't matter to you, load it once again and remove Windows Component Store.
After this step, Drivers can't be integrated nor enable/disable features. Always make a backup when you are testing results...
Superseded packages are needed for windows update compatibility, that is why you can find "removed" packages in winsxs folder. Always saw windows update complains about CU not being installed and if I'm right, Remove reinstalls is now found in NTLite because CU returns packages removed by NTLite.
There are some packages that looks superseded but must be kept (I started creating scripts for superseded but changed my mind).
What I have done in the last 2 months is:
Integrated everything.
Make a backup.
Uncheck all in Compatibility.
Uncheck Winsxs in Components page.
Select Clean Up in...
I have read months ago that starting from 8th gen Intel core, Win 7 wouldn't be supported by Intel but I think Clanger knows more about that.
You can have a boot.wim 10 to install from a .ESD Win 7 image. But don't know about installing 7 on lates Intel CPU.

I saw the very same error trying to install 2004 x64 to a friend of mine's computer, it was the eMMC drive damaged.
But I had other issue: A popup that asks for repair with 2 options, trying to skip, it reboot the computer, the same running 1703 & 2004 builds. Weird because that didn't happen...
I have read somewhere that removing Cortana doesn't break Search, now I see, it comes apart.
Ms is changing everything to apps, some components every 6 months at a time.

right click on This PC for menu
select manage
select device manager
find the unknown device, right click and select Disable
that should do the trick.

Tried to recover but not possible, tried to install 2004 x64 but didn't got installed in the wrong drive, 1 out of 2 partitions recovered with easy.
