DCH Drivers, Graphics Control Panels and NTLite dilemma

That would be the final nail in the coffin for me.

DCH Drivers, Graphics Control Panels and NTLite dilemma

Lets pray they dont add more junk to LTSC 22 but like any other version it always broke tons of stuff too. Good thing 2019 has 10 year support but the bad thing is that hardware support often requires new versions. Like my Turing GPU requires 180x branch now. If all games had native linux...

DCH Drivers, Graphics Control Panels and NTLite dilemma

Something sounds wrong here. I have not required to use the store or dependencies 1607 and 1809 LTSx with any 39x/4xx nvidia driver branch and all had perfectly fine control panel? It is true tho that more and more windows elements require UWP/Metro stuff.

DCH Drivers, Graphics Control Panels and NTLite dilemma

I can only say this... avoid DCH and other Store (+dependencies) like the plague unless you really need to. Perfectly fine gaming system without touching any of these. Even Microsoft realises this somewhat and said it was planning to release their games to steam at some point :)

Windows 10 LTSC 1809 - Optimize Gaming/Poweruser/Runtime Profile, retaining maximum compatibility. For x64/UEFI systems

Nope, not related to event viewer channels, and i always used to disable sharing wizard, so if it screwed up I wonder if it might be the latest cumulative update i'm using that broke it. Now it is not actually really a problem, that sharing page has very little that cannot be configured...

Windows 10 LTSC 1809 - Optimize Gaming/Poweruser/Runtime Profile, retaining maximum compatibility. For x64/UEFI systems

Done :) I only found a single quirk so far, I can no longer open the 'Change advanced sharing settings'. but it cannot be from a component removal. I wonder maybe a reg file or one of the new NTLite function to disable Event Logger channel stuff. Or maybe its just a service i accidentally...

Windows 10 LTSC 1809 - Optimize Gaming/Poweruser/Runtime Profile, retaining maximum compatibility. For x64/UEFI systems

Ah yeah, I 'm pretty sure some of my files are dupes of yours, or dupes of something else, but I guess it doesn't hurt anything. I'll do a pass on them sometime to find the dupes and clear everything up. Was thinking of renaming my reg's to the same names as you do it just for clarity sake...

Windows 10 LTSC 1809 - Optimize Gaming/Poweruser/Runtime Profile, retaining maximum compatibility. For x64/UEFI systems

Its an ever lasting min-maxing kind of thing. If i ever run into a new tweak, i just accumulate the data in a notepad file and when i feel like it, I update it again in case I ever have the urge to reinstall Windows hehe. We'll see what happens with LTSC 2021? I hope the tweaking/removal...

Windows 10 LTSC 1809 - Optimize Gaming/Poweruser/Runtime Profile, retaining maximum compatibility. For x64/UEFI systems

You had a lot of nice reg tweaks I found useful, saves some time post installation as well! I added credits ;) Will upload new profile somewhere today.

Windows 10 LTSC 1809 - Optimize Gaming/Poweruser/Runtime Profile, retaining maximum compatibility. For x64/UEFI systems

Yeah rediculous stuff is happening these days! Avoid DCH at all cost! :p For Nvidia driver i still pick regular, and use NVTrimmer tool before install driver. So much junk in it these days. You only require 4 out of 15 components to have a fully working Nvidia driver in example. So much bloat...

Windows 10 LTSC 1809 - Optimize Gaming/Poweruser/Runtime Profile, retaining maximum compatibility. For x64/UEFI systems

Mhh. Either a driver, or maybe 'Capability Access Manager Service'. And 'Microphone' under privacy? Not sure. I rather not touch Razer equipment but that is personal experience ;-) The fact that you require to login to their cloud first before being able to adjust mouse settings is just...

Windows 10 LTSC 1809 - Optimize Gaming/Poweruser/Runtime Profile, retaining maximum compatibility. For x64/UEFI systems

Mhh, I'll have to investigate timers a bit more. I just know on my board, forcing useplatformclock true forces HPET for the entire system, which slows down Windows to a crawl on a high-end system. Its a known bug.

Windows 10 LTSC 1809 - Optimize Gaming/Poweruser/Runtime Profile, retaining maximum compatibility. For x64/UEFI systems

Hi. The profile is ment to run with build-in admin, so 'run as admin' would have no effect. Maybe something went wrong with auto attend section? If you dont want to run with build-in admin, maybe its the UAC settings. Hi! I tried experimenting disabling MMCSS a while back but I personally...

Windows 10 LTSC 1809 - Optimize Gaming/Poweruser/Runtime Profile, retaining maximum compatibility. For x64/UEFI systems

I can't honestly remember, But maybe I should dump my latest build here. I've still been personally tweaking for myself and refining it. But the fact remains, minimal yet full compatiblity. Games only care about runtime, whatever runs in the background could potentially ruin gaming, fps...

Windows 10 LTSC 1809 - Optimize Gaming/Poweruser/Runtime Profile, retaining maximum compatibility. For x64/UEFI systems

Well, some for personal reasons, simply because I need them. others to keep stuff from breaking :p Im sure some of it can be disabled for you. Like SNMP i enabled for my router. Not necessary for most people. SMB because I have numerous different VM's with different OS and clients on my...

1809 LTSC: Removing XBox/GameDVR/GameMode without killing FSO

There are >always< consequences of running through the DWM, namely input lag. It does not beat exclusive full screen. Also DWM + Gsync still has more framepacing issues vs Full screen and GPU usage will be few % higher. Reason enough to utilize full screen optimization as it is basically a...

1809 LTSC: Removing XBox/GameDVR/GameMode without killing FSO

1809 LTSC: Removing XBox/GameDVR/GameMode without killing Full Screen Optimization? (Its an option as a per executable on compatibility tab) Is it possible? Currently removing Xbox (On LTSC which doesnt have xbox app either way) removes 'Game Settings' from Settings including GameDVR and...
