Settings - Bluetooth can't remove device

Well, after a few hours testing each setting, I found the problem. If you remove "Run as Administrator" context menu on .exe files, you cannot remove Bluetooth devices with modern settings panel. The popup "Are you sure you want to remove this device?" doesn't show up and settings panel just...

Settings - Bluetooth can't remove device

I understand that... Still using Windows 7 on my 5950X / RTX 3080 / 64GB DDR4, and it works perfectly. Tweaked a few years ago with vLite, only 24 processes. Latest libraries included, .NET 4.8, it is awesome. But now, I start to struggle with latest hardware, no more Nvidia drivers updates...

Settings - Bluetooth can't remove device

Hum, where do you find that? I didn't touch anything manually in Services section, except Windows Update. I also attach my preset :)

Settings - Bluetooth can't remove device

Hello, I'm almost satisfied with my NTLited W10 21H2 now after a few days of use  I still have a little issue with Bluetooth. Adding/connecting devices works fine, but I can't remove them. When I go to Settings > Bluetooth & other devices, select one of the list and click "Remove...

    Removing WMP: Components vs. Features

Thank you for your trials and report! Yes, there must be something else on my end, because the result is always the same. <Feature name="WindowsMediaPlayer">false</Feature> doesn't break the install, so I will accommodate with that.

    Removing WMP: Components vs. Features

Hello garlin, thank you for your reply. You were right. After more tests, I can indeed confirm one of the Post-Setup applications was blocking the process. I created an ISO based on the same preset + WMP components removed but no post-setup applications at all. It installed without any problem...

    Removing WMP: Components vs. Features

There seems to be a problem when I remove those components: <c>mediaplayer 'Windows Media Player'</c> <c>mediaplayer32 'Windows Media Player - 32 bit'</c> <c>mediaplayernetworksharing 'WMP Network Sharing Service'</c> <c>mediaplayernetworksharing32 'WMP Network Sharing Service - 32 bit'</c>...

    Removing WMP: Components vs. Features

Well, interesting approach, thanks for pointing this out. Out of curiosity, do you know what differs from A: <c>mediaplayer 'Windows Media Player'</c> <c>mediaplayer32 'Windows Media Player - 32 bit'</c> <c>mediaplayernetworksharing 'WMP Network Sharing Service'</c>...

    Removing WMP: Components vs. Features

Hello, I'd like to remove WMP, but it seems it can be done either in the components or in the features sections. Which method should be favored / gives the best results? Thanks :)

    Completely remove Sync Center

I don't use the ribbon, but the "classic" menu bar (Folder Options►View tab►Files and Folders►'Always show menus'). Windows 10 Enterprise 21H2.

    Completely remove Sync Center

Well, thank you for clarification! Indeed, I remember it couldn't be removed easily on W7 either. I'll check more throughly with ResHacker.

    Completely remove Sync Center

Ah yes, that's why I didn't find any .reg entry to remove that one, unlike most other items!

    Completely remove Sync Center

Hello, I would like to remove Sync Center on Windows 10. I could get rid of it almost completely thanks to NTLite, but there is still a menu item in every folder. Of course, clicking on it does nothing, because all components are removed. Is there a way to hide that item? Thanks for your help.

    Custom Like This?

Understood, thanks for your answer. Anyway, I could find a simple workaround in the meantime. I ran UltraUXThemePatcher, then extracted the 2 DLLs. My mistake was to run my replacement script in User Execution. I just switched to Machine Execution and voila, no more error. Edit: Well...

    Custom Like This?

Yes of course. Now, my question was more about how to replace system files silently using NTLite, not how to mod them ;)

    Custom Like This?

I think there is no other tool like UltraUXThemePatcher, indeed. Well, it seems I need another approach. I have both themeui.dll & uxinit.dll ready & patched. However, while themeui.dll gets replaced easily, my batch fails to replace uxinit.dll ("The process cannot access the file because it is...

    Custom Like This?

Hello, UltraUXThemePatcher /S doesn't work anymore (silent switch removed by author). Any idea how to patch those system files silently now? Thanks!
