    One other thoughts... When you guys make the iso do you do it for BIOS or UEFI compatibility? I do NOT want UEFI and I have my current PC's BIOS configured for non-UEFI. Could that be the issue? Are you trying to read my current BIOS or something??

    I used 7zip to extract the iso image. I just redownloaded the image using the method you described above. So it definitely is valid. Also to be clear I'm making a Win8.1 iso image on a machine that is running Windows8.1. Are you doing all of this on a Windows 10 machine?

    I used the app here (https://www.heidoc.net/php/Windows-ISO-Downloader.exe) to download a fresh windows 8.1 iso image, then extracted it to a directory. Loaded it into nlite and tried to remake the iso and that's when I get the error message.
