It's not that simple. Lets say there's a reg tweak that you can manually execute, and NTLite is using same reg tweak to achieve something. If that tweak breaks something, do you still think NTLite is to blame? Well, since MDL told you to use .1 , maybe it's better place to ask?

Thanks! This is what I wanted to report. Going to mmc and adding 'Component Services' snap-in, then expanding like on screenshot I attached earlier.

Another one for nuhi to look into. Just removed these 2: commmc 'COM+ (Component Services) (management console)' commmc32 'COM+ (Component Services) (management console) - 32 bit' but got error in mmc.

I am working on ltsc 2021 barebone image (using NTLite), need to check number of handles I have at the moment. I think it was 12-13k on default without turning off services.

My work laptop has 194k of handles. :D :cool:

Probably misunderstanding. What I meant is that most of instances of svchost.exe in task manager are from running services. If you right click on some svchost.exe instance in task manager (details tab) and click on Go to service(s) it will take you to Services tab with selected service that runs...

Ok, svchost processes are mostly from services. What does winaero tweaker do regarding that? Disable some services?

He probably set taskmgr.exe as default shell (easy to change in registry). Using same alternative shell and explorer replacement (like exporer++) can help lower number of handles. Clanger What do you do to lower number of handles?

That's helpful link, I found that main component is icu.dll so I've added it to the list of files not to be removed, and icons are ok now after removal of 'International Unicode Components' .

This is segmdl2.ttf in C:\Windows\Fonts , right? If so, it is present on the system.

Yeah, I am not trying to report a bug or something, just thinking that it would be good to have warning in description at least, as many other components have. I was thinking the same but in that case they should have description "Explicit removal not supported" like some other components?
