I saw a reddit post a of a guy who got 30 processes with modified iso. Is it even great to use? Can you game, do you have privacy and microsoft defender? Since I tried to create one using yt tutorials and got 150+ processes, what do I do wrong? How can I reach like 70 processes?

"great to use" depends on that OP's requirements which may be different to your requirements.
What You can do and get away with will take a fair bit of testing on your part, this is what I can get away with but i am not everybody, i am a small subset(possible the only one??) of a small subset of tweakers who go that far.

Bareboning(or just slimming down) services goes hand in hand with slimming down scheduled tasks autologgers/loggers and winevt's.

You just got to test test test to destruction. I would say it is highly possible for you to get somewhere between 30 to 50 processes, i am allowing a bit of overhead, pin me down and i say between 30 and 40 is acheivable.
Its worth it, good luck.

Windows 7 left, W10 LTSC 1809.3165 right.

You should barebone your services Post Install because doing it all in an image is guaranteed to break install.
Ideally you should do it after all your software and drivers are installed.

Suggestion.
Use this thread to for further questions etc, state exactly which OS, which build series it is, 1809, 21H2 etc, garlin is good at knowing what services will be required for setup and apps installation.

i want to create a lightweight iso thats good for privacy and gaming, get rid of all the unneccesary, but still have microsoft defender for example. ive watched couple of tutorials (tho there really isnt alot of them), but they dont go that deep, their all quite different and miss alot of stuff that i care about. first iso i made still came with 150+ processes after booting up, i dont really understand what did I miss or do wrong. also im not the tech saviest, so I dont completely understand whats okay to remove or not

Images like that are broken in so many ways we cannot list it all. This is due to a concept called file dependencies, and basically the more stuff that is ripped out of an operating system the more broken it becomes, meaning news articles about things like "Tiny11" are pure garbage, and all the actual tweaking veterans out there hate hearing about it, so everyone is well advised to steer clear of that mess (link1).

Processes/Threads/Handles are also an extremely misleading metric in modern Windows, because ever since Microsoft introduced a certain tweak (link2), people have been using it in combination with artificially-lowered RAM installs by using a VM for benchmarking, and then the resulting screenshots appear super low, but it's not an accurate representation of how good or bad an image is.

For people new to NTLite, I recommend reading these guides (link3, link4, link5) that have been written for the types of people coming to the forum with the same or similar questions as this thread. Please keep in mind, I don't expect people to agree with every bit of content in these guides, because there are many different ways to approach computers, but they will direct inexperienced users towards successful tweaking adventures.

"its completely fubar'd" would be an appropriate response for many people but it depends on how many breakages you can tolerate. X Y and Z might be "broken" but if you dont ever use them you aint gonna notice.

My W7 v LTSC is not a definitive list, its there to show what is possible with w10 and when compared to w7 how it stands up.
What every user has to do, as always, is to cherry pick their tweaks to destruction.

Luckily i am not a gamer and dont need all the online crap, offline windows for audio editing/media player and debian live for online stuff suits me very nicely.

What you have to do is listen to others to a certain degree but the further you go you learn to ignore the naysayers because you know what works for you.

I linked you to guides that hold your hand through every step, telling you precisely what to click on and how to make an image. If you're not going to put in any real effort, then the rest of us shouldn't either. Read the guides and only ask questions after you've invested at least a few hours into completing some of them and/or after searching the forum for each question. I realize this sounds harsh, but threads like these appear frequently and every question in them has already been answered many times, since literally every member is here for the same basic reasons.
