Add Snipping Tool to the Compatibility list

Would definitely be a nice addition.

Haven't had time to test 24H2 yet, but these components were required in 23H2:
Clipboard User Service
Capture Picker
Snipping Tool

Instead of Snipping Tool, Windows Feature Experience Pack - Desktop can also be used. It provides some old version of snipping tool that saves the captures in AppData.

I used the "Lite" preset and everything works really well except Snipping Tool. The app starts fine but it can't take screenshots and the shortcut also doesn't work. It will be cool if there is a Snipping Tool compatibility option. :D
You can use ShareX or softwares like snipping tool instead

I still use the "old version" of Snipping Tool (the one from windows iot ltsc 2024) which works very well with W11 Pro and only needs 2 files
For the "video" I always used ScreenToGif

Can the old version of Snipping Tool run on Windows 11 24H2? I tried copying the Snipping Tool file from LTSC 24H2 to Win11 24H2, but it doesn't work.

Yes it works, you must also have the SnippingTool.exe.mui file present in the language directory in Windows\System32 (fr-FR for me)

Maybe it's because I deleted the Modern Snipping and Sketch app?

Using other tools outside Windows - keep Capture Service as it has an API needed for this.

The ones I tested, and the one on Windows 10, didn't need it
ScreenToGif, which I also use for videos, works fine without it too

Somehow the W11 capabilities or limitations if you will are being transferred to W10 because they want companies to switch to W11 as soon as possible and preferably 24H2.
It smells like a "cloud" burst.

Oh yes, I was talking about personal PCs
The Windows 10 one works fine under Windows 11 24h2 without the service (just 2 files to copy)
On a work PC, might as well use what is “default”
