AvastUI failed to load, among other issues...

Hi,

I just bought the home license yesterday. Everything works brilliantly as expected. I slimmed down a Windows 10 LTSB 2016 x64 .ISO. I installed the .ISO on my VM, and all cumulative updates install just fine, so huge thanks to the dev for that. However...

When I tried to install Avast, there were problems. The installation proceeded just fine. Yet, when it finishes, nothing happens. The AvastUI couldn't load, and any attempt to load it manually would result in the process getting killed after a few seconds with no error dialog boxes whatsoever.

Also:
- I get "error 2" (0x80070002) when I run dism /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase - after the command progressed 98%. Is this normal?
- I get error 0x80073701 when I install something (e.g DirectPlay) through Windows Features. I used the search function and in old threads it was suggested that this is a downside of NTLite. Is this still the case in the newest version of NTLite?

Thanks in advance and any help is appreciated. I have attached below my preset.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, avast shields and services still run just fine. It's just the UI that doesn't load.

You wouldnt think that a few files from internet explorer would affect windows explorer but its true. Good find and good work. :)

So, I finally found out what it is. Windows Search. Which is really strange, since it doesn't seem to have anything to do with Avast.

If you are 100% certain is that then maybe Nuhi could that to its notes. I wonder if its needed for avast on windows 7. It could be just 1 or 2 files that avast needs rather than the whole thing.

Update: I can disable Windows Search in the "Features" section, I can disable the Windows Search service and Avast would still run fine. Only when I remove it would Avast stop working.

Removing Windows Search but keeping Shell search doesn't work?

As I found with Dragon, it seems that some software needs certain components during install. But once installed, they work okay without the component.

As far as I'm concerned, no it doesn't work even when I keep shell search.

This is not the case here. Even if I successfully installed Avast and had the UI loaded up nicely, live removal of windows search would still break the program.

Thats good to know cos windows search sucks monkey balls. I use Everything by voidtools, its on the Interesting Things page. Most likely avast is reliant on 1 or 2 files from search, it wouldnt take too long to find which ones.

@kicksnarehihat, thanks for your report, will check Avast+Search removal issue and fix if possible, or add a warning if permanent.
As for other package maintenance issues, since you kept WU compatibility it should work so I'll review and report back.
