Blocking Windows Update

After all what I have done, this morning on switch on I got the store access icon on my desktop.....meaning crap is still coming in. I have reached the end of my knowledge regarding blocking windows update and has reached out for a corruption trick. It's an old trick but it works. Even the Anti-Virus packages has hidden features to allow windows background updates. Soooo. I have corrupted the wuaueng.dll file with it's proxy stub file to not except updates. Added a schedule to replace the dll at intervals in case it gets replaced and blocked the crap out of windows and almost all of the ports, the firewall ports I now have only 80 and 8080. Nearly broke my foot off in windows ass. Now it is starting to purr like the V12 I know and remember. Will see what new curveball I'm gone get after I through this the box of spanners at it. After that.....I'm using the cutting torch to loosen it up.

There is 12 dll's what I can see in windows 10-1709.....I only replaced system32\ and system32\en-us\ files

The first find I have extensive Group policy edits in, various regs files, firewall changes, services disabled. In the new one it is only the dll I've changed. No other changes to the OS

With a lot of posts ive seen elsewhere people always say "its easy when you know how" with this or that but then they dont tell you how.

Like I said in an different post.....what we do is trial and error......we figure this crap out as we go along. A lot of us didn't study for this and those who did.....well...they keep quite. I'm like a social butterfly.......cause sh*t everywhere I go. Hahahahaha

I dont cause it but i seem to get it a lot. Luckily i have no problem with telling the offending cliquers to gfts, hehehe

Thanks to e-web, if it weren't for you I would have still been stuck without a firewall and Clanger, for spoon feeding me, your assistance got me to this.

e-web...... I took a similar approach to your firewall file, I just used the firewall rules reg string......and yes....it works great. Thanx for your steering

Saagy, run any reg/bat/cmd file etc from Power Run, no errors, i use it as a universal launcher for most system type stuff now.

Add the following files to Power Run UI, they are all in Windows/System32.
services.msc - gpedit.msc - taskschd.msc. Regedit is already in the UI toolbar.
