Can the logon screen be completely removed?

I can't stand the fact the Microsoft chose the user photo on the logon screen for Windows 10 to be a circle. I've been looking for ways to remove that circular avatar but there is no way that I can see to do it.

So I thought I would ask here. I would prefer a square or simply no photo at all just my user name with the password box.

I guess not. You would think that someone by now has made a tool that will allow a user to do this.

I think you can disable the login screen by autologging in a user. I dont know, ive never tried. :)

Try this:

You can try by removing the images once mounted with NTLite or using a command in Post setup tab.

I tried the article on Ten Forums and that did not work. But I will re-read the article and try it again. Perhaps something I missed.

I'm not sure about the removing images once mounted thing. This is new to me. I may have to ask more specifics.

Windows 7 - C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\User Account Pictures. I regularly remove user account pictures from a mounted folder, you may have to use the Take Ownership trick to delete them.

No GUI Boot does nothing. I still see the circular avatar on the logon screen. Deleting User Account Pictures does nothing. Even after deleting these folders the avatar still shows on the logon screen.

I'd like Nuhi to advise me what to do if there is a way.

I don't think there is any way to do it. Not even using NTLite. But I wish Nuhi would reply. He would know.

Judging from here at the end of the page, deleting that user pictures folder should remove it.
Let us know it goes.
Thanks.

A remaining problem is that when you dismiss the lock screen you will notice the logon screen is not the same color. Even if you go into Settings and tell Windows to use the same image that you have on the lock screen and use that for the logon screen they screw it up. You will notice that the color is darker on the logon screen.

This is bad programming. There is no way to get the logon screen looking the way you want. This is the main reason I don't use Windows 10.

Both Windows 10 and Windows 7 and Windows 8 have this problem.Solving a Windows password problem like this isn't hard, this tutorial will make you understand.
