[FIXED] ESET AV does not initialize fully - "We are waiting to be registered with the Windows Security Center"

Hello,

I have created my own ntlite image based on the gaming preset with a few customizations of my own and everything installs as it should (see attached). Unfortunately my antivirus (eset internet security) program is not working 100% correctly, it says in the GUI "we are waiting to be registered with the windows securitycenter". My search for "windows security cenrter" in ntlite has unfortunately been unsuccessful, so I would be grateful if someone could tell me what I should re-enable so that I can fix this error message.

Hi,

can you please be more specific, where to look for that error?
I am guessing it's in the tool overview, after installation.

Btw the only component related to the security center is Windows Defender. Try disabling it in NTLite - loaded image - Settings, instead of removing it, if you cannot wait for my replication and potential fix.

The error message appears in AV software after I install the system from the image created with ntlite:

The Windows Security Center cannot be started because some components are missing. I am trying to find out which components I need to activate at least to fix this problem, but so far I have had no success.

PS: I need to get the security center working again, that would solve my problem....

Thanks, on it.

Btw first glance, Security Center service is set to manual, try starting that (and/or set to Automatic/Default).
I'll proceed with my test anyway and see if the security center then works with your second (defender kept) preset.

I have already tried to start the Security Center manually, but as I wrote, a required component is missing

Yes, well done, just saw the same.

It's a part of the 'Virtualisierungsbasierte Sicherheit (VBS)' component, either keep the entire component, or I send you a test version with the issue fixed?

Thanks!

I experienced same issue in the past. fixed by restoring defender and security center :/ didn't work without them

Thank you very much, it seems to be exactly what I was looking for. The security center now starts and the warning is gone. Now I can test the rest of the system and hopefully I won't find any new problems!
