GamerOS Windows 10 & 11 DIY Preset

Is there a preset for windows 11 22H2? If so where can I download it?

I read the last few pages and see that Microsoft store, Bluetooth, and MS accounts were disabled in the GamerOS 10 Final. I would assume if there is a preset for windows 11 it is most like the same case. For my needs I use the Xbox app to play some games while being log into to a Microsoft account. I also need bluetooth. I see Txmmy states I need to remove the code below from the preset to enable it. What about the xbox app is there other codes I need to remove to get it to work correctly? Thanks

<c>hwsupport_bluetooth 'Bluetooth'</c>
<c>Microsoft.StorePurchaseApp 'Store Experience Host'</c>
<c>Microsoft.WindowsStore 'Windows Store'</c>
<c>passport 'Microsoft Passport'</c>

Have you tried the instructions? The only other Xbox component it removes is:
<c>Microsoft.XboxGameCallableUI 'Xbox Game UI'</c>

That one is optional, depending on what your game(s) want.

personally i keep
  • xbox -core
  • xbox app
  • xbox game bar plugin
  • xbox game bar
  • xbox game speech window
  • xbox TCUI
  • xbox Game UI
Along with the respected Visual c++'s and the Microsoft.UIXaml.2.4 and Microsoft.UIXaml.2.7 files for gaming. ( going by the ntlite gaming TEMPLATE ) these are required for gaming

I just installed my image and now noticed that windows update is gone. I going to make a new image what code do I need to remove to enable windows update?

You can update the image with ntlite, but after you update all the stuff that was removed will just be right back where microsoft had left it, you must apply the gamerOS preset again to restore it, if you really want you can go to the search bar in ntlite and and recheck windows update, this will most likely be the last time I drop thru here, as Ive gone outta my way to obtain the gamerOS name and forever tie it to this windows image instead of a linux one, and I keep trying to make the best os for all gamers and yet the place in where I need to test it (in games) is just a sht show
of people blatantly cheating, and I cant tell anymore whats good and whats not good tweaks as each time I try something as simple as turning off auto tuning for 0ms bufferbloat or something, or just walking the dog for 5 mins, I come back and the experience is just something totally different
its like someone has decided that Im cheating and thats the end of it, Ive got no baseline to test, except my 9000hrs in cs and knowing how cs go is supposed to look and feel like when playing, shot reg and all that, it is a very finely optimized online competitive game, and yet Im driving myself insane doing the same thing over and over again and the only thing thats changing is the fact that these people just toggle on and your 1-4 bullet ttk is no match for people who can fire 10-20 bullets and wind up getting 2 hs or 4 body shots, and their waving the guns around like a feather dusters with their aim assist and all that, Ive never went to school for any of this stuff, I just like messing around and clicking boxes and seeing what happens to the computer, Im outmatched when people choose to cheat and so I choose to not drive myself insane

At least I can sit back and be happy that I showed you something new as gamers, and that editing the iso is a way better gaming experience

For me personally it doesn't make sense to tweak and remove components and update the OS knowing that everything I've done will be undone. I know NTLite has the Remove Reinstalls feature but that causes tool dependency besides being a completely manual process. And tweaks can be reversed anyway. The only way to guarantee that tweaks won't be messed with by Microsoft is to use group policies.

Gamers just want to click a button and everything magically gets faster and optimized without any loss of functionality or consequences. They don't want to have to think. So in my opinion the best thing for them is to use Windows as it is, few things can be disabled or removed without consequences.

NTLite is an extremely advanced tool for removing components, this is for those who understand how Windows works and are willing to debug and solve any problems.

Translated to non-Txmmy speak:

WU will inadvertantly restore removed features, or upset carefully designed settings when it updates. Most gamers choose to skip updates to preserve the "purity" of the build, instead of fixing it after every update. Depends on how much time you have...

...(in games) is just a sht show...
I can appreciate and sympathize with your frustrations, I know all too well what you are going through:
The last first person shooter that I played competitively was Black Ops 1, released in 2012. By time Modern Warfare 2 came out, the cheating had become so rampant and blatant in the series that it wasn't fun anymore and I stopped playing those games entirely, switching my focus to other stuff like Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, etcetera. Even Diablo was difficult to compete in, since the leaderboards are littered with botters, but at least it wasn't "direct" competition in the same game together, so it sure beat the heck out of dealing with idiots getting 20 headshots in literal seconds with aimbot/wallhack.

Even console gaming has become overrun with cheats, and they were fairly immune for a long time, but that all started changing around that same time frame as the above examples. CSGO is one of the games I'll never play, because it's among the most cheated at games there is, and the anti-cheat software is always so far behind in catching people these days. There's even a couple of good YouTube videos showing streamers and e-sports players getting caught in the act, which is hilarious. Here's a good one I watched recently for giggles (link). Hell, even the Chess world was rocked by cheating scandals and allegations lately, which made national news for a while. It's everywhere, and it's pathetic and ruining gaming on a massive scale.

A huge part of the problem is the loss of dedicated servers and the invention of "matchmaking" which not only gives the host a huge unfair advantage, but it makes cheating easier too. Not all games switched over of course, but many did. This change is thanks to consoles, and since most developers just port code from console to PC now, we get matchmaking crap because of it, as well as unoptimized game code due to porting.

Anywho, I feel you man, and I just wanted to let you know there are others out there that understand. The solution for me was to focus more on single-player stuff, which was also good because it forced me to expand my horizons and look into games that I didn't usually play, and there's quite a few really good games that are single-player only, as well as some amazingly addictive sandbox games, such as Mount and Blade Warband, which I found myself losing entire days on, then seeing the clock and realizing I hadn't eaten all day or done anything productive, lol.

Take care, Txmmy, and good luck in your future endeavors.

Txmmy . I know we haven't had many interactions , but I just want to take this moment to say a big thank you. Thank you for all the work you have done, the countless hours you have poured into this, and also the kindness in providing. You have been a massive inspiration to many, and we are all grateful for all you have done. Rest my friend, always remember . real world takes priority over everything else. Take care, and keep safe. I hope our paths cross again .

Best wishes , Taosd

Competitive games are killing the games industry, games are getting simpler and less interesting. Microsoft laid off 10,000 employees recently and Ubisoft is also in crisis because of low game sales.

We have new generations of CPU and graphics card every 6 months or year just to play CS GO with 1000 FPS and beyond lol

And it's only slated to get worse. Look at Microsoft trying to buy Activision Blizzard, which is already an abomination as-is before Microsoft gets involved... Every time this happens it becomes all about profits, profits, profits, and games start shipping out as extremely buggy, unplayable messes, with 10 gigabyte day one "patches" which is really just these mega corporations actually finishing up their alpha product, after everyone paid money for a game that doesn't work on launch day. Or, what about the constant lack of servers, due to companies being cheap, so nobody can even login to their mandatory-online-required DRM game just to play single-player.

Not to mention all the loot boxes, in-app purchases, ads, and microtransactions everywhere now...Companies like Blizzard used to care about its players, until they got bought out and then it's layoffs and turnover galore, because nobody wants to develop games at triple pace and for half pay, which is what corporations like Microsoft and Activision expect. There's been all sorts of articles in the last few years on this stuff, and it makes me sad. Gaming was a big part of my childhood, and I hate to see these greedy corporations ruin it all practically overnight.

I'm using the GamerOS preset. Everything works finde except missing Icons for Videos.
Is there any way to reenable them?
Press Windows Key + S and enter folder options. Select File Explorer Options from the menu. After File Explorer Options window opens, go to View tab and make sure that Always show icons, never thumbnails option is unchecked. Now click on Apply and OK to save change

This is from the web, let me know if it doesn't work. The setting is also in Ntlite settings. I didn't mess with any of the settings in the gameros and did my own.

I already checked that. This is not the reason. I have thumbnails for pictures but not for videos.
As far as i know the video thumbnails won't work in GamerOS because of debloat? I just want to revert this if possible?

Have you tried both of these before we go through Ntlite

Thanks, but that doesn't help either. :/
Picture icons are working fine. It's only the video ones. I installed VLC but it still doen'st work. I can only see the orange VLC pylons icon for every Video file. No thumbnail.
It worked fine in my old Windows 11 (stock).

Okay, I am sure there must have been a setting that got changed in Ntlite, I am away from my computer so cannot help much at the moment. If someone else chimes in before I get to it tonight and fixes it for you then great.
