GamerOS Windows 10 & 11 DIY Preset

Are you modding someone's pre-made ISO? Then your choices are limited, especially if they tampered with WinSxS. Normally all languages are integrated to a clean image first, updates next, and removals last.

If you are past that point, it's doubtful you can change the included languages. I think we're not talking about GamerOS anyway, so feel free to open a different topic thread, and keep this one for Gamer-OS only questions.

YIt is an iso mod from oprekin. I applied GamerOs on it and solved all the problems I had. Everything works fine, I just had this problem of changing the language

If you find a list of all the Xbox related dependencies, please share them. I have everything working except for one tiny thing: the xbox app immediately closes upon launch, however, it still runs in the background. I cannot log into it through the game bar, either, not with an error (sorry, something went wrong. try again in a while. 0x80131534).

I don't think anyone's complained about Xbox features stopped working. For logon, you need MS Account support (see post #291).

Check if you removed more System Apps than GamerOS touches. Otherwise your image might be corrupted, and start over with a clean ISO and reapply your saved preset.

Well, I am.
And you're right, that's obvious. But it has nothing to do with logging in, because you can't even get to the log in screen. From a fresh install, no modifications to anything xbox or store related (meaning they're checked), upon opening the xbox app it immediately closes. If you install the OS vanilla, everything works fine. So either I'm insane, or something is missing. Does the configuration need a special OS build? Has MS updated over something that has been taken out from this config? If not, why is it that my builds work and this one does not. I think a dependency list is needed.

There isn't an explicit dependency list, but did you remove any other System Apps like run-time libraries? The required packages are tagged important by Compatibility mode.
Code:
Microsoft.NET.Native.Framework.1.7
Microsoft.NET.Native.Runtime.1.7
Microsoft.VCLibs.140.00.UWPDesktop
Microsoft.VCLibs.140.00

I touched nothing. All I did was install, then run the xbox app, it blinks shut. I updated it multiple ways: the store (still did it), gamingrepairtool from xbox (still did it), offline installer (still did it). My own builds it works fine, but I cannot find after comparing elements what this one is missing to cause the problem. This is on OS 10 pro 22H2 19045.2965, by the way. I have not tried it on other builds.

Is anything removed for the Microsoft store? Any dependencies for this will cause issues. It will work but not download or cannot sign in

Store isn't required to run Xbox software. It's needed to purchase or re-install Xbox games, but not after that.

That's true. The real issue has to do with the game bar, the game bar needs you to sign in to use its social component. You need the xbox app to sign in to it. You must be signed in to play uwp games.

I've done this about 5 times now, once including an actual reformat on a system and not a virtual machine. I load the iso, load the preset, save the iso, format install the iso. Try to run xbox--no good. Check for store updates, they update but remove the xbox app, reinstall xbox app to new version--no good. I suggest you try it out.

One thing I have noticed in the full day I spent trying to figure this out. Is that the preset, though it has nothing (obvious at glance) in it which removes the contents, two problems exist: One has to do with connectivity for your network, which can be taken out of the preset, and two, that the install by default does not have the 'gamingservice' services like the vanilla os does (the ones you can install later via appx). I'm not sure if this is what is causing it, because after I install them manually xbox still just blinks at me. I would be interested to know what component is causing these to be gone from this preset.

I think I need to restate that if certain parts that are needed for the store and also affect Xbox and vice versa. Maybe this was fixed but I had to keep Xbox to keep store working correctly and the same goes the other way around.

For some reason if I removed Xbox stuff it caused my store to go weird. Same other way. Cannot explain why but I just leave sleeping demons sleeping.

hi,

I had this problem a long time ago not only with Xbox App, but with any app (New Notepad for example) and this post from garlin solved the problem.

You will need My Store Apps download script also from garlin

Just download notepad for example you only need to install Microsoft.UI.Xaml.x.x_x.x.

Now I no longer have this problem (I'm using Windows 11), but the first thing I do, before creating an image, is to update Windows, but if I don't update Windows, any new application Terminal, Config, Task Manager opens and closes automatically. Then I need to do the method above indicated by garlin.

Sorry for bad English.

The main function of the W10_11StoreApps.ps1 script is to download:
- latest version of the default Windows Apps
- all of the app's package dependencies at the same time

When running the script as Administrator, you will be provided a checkbox option of installing the downloaded files. This can also be used as a "repair" function by re-installing everything required for that App. Obviously it depends on which Xbox app is actually broken.

What I noticed is that any new application, like Terminal, new Notepad, TaskManager, even Settings (Start Menu | Settings) opens and closes in seconds, reinstalling only Microsoft.UI.Xaml downloaded from any app with your script, it solves the problem.
The other way is to update Windows before applications start closing, at least for me.

I'm using Windows 11.

I have an error with 1.1.1.1 with "GamerOS 10 Final". Is there anyone in the same situation as me or someone kind enough to help me with this problem? Thanks a lotMy English is bad so I use google translate

I haven't used CloudFlare WARP, but GamerOS removes two components:
Code:
                <c>Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge 'Microsoft Edge (Legacy)'</c>
<c>vpn 'Virtual Private Network (VPN) support'</c>

Edge (Legacy) is the IE11 compatibility library, and WARP technically is a VPN service.

I followed your instructions but it worked. It seems the problem lies in these services, do you have any instructions for me? Thank you

P/S: By the way, thank you Galamooth for solving the Microsoft store problem. I followed Txmmy's instructions but it still didn't work
