GamerOS Windows 10 & 11 DIY Preset

I already fixed it but thx anyway
Hey can you tell me how did you fix the ctfmon.exe issue?

it pops up every cpl of seconds a damn pop up window tellming that there is a buffer overflow due to ctfmon.exe missing or smth like that....

Does anyone know, when I boot up into the GamerOS, i have a default admin account on, and everything runs as admin, I notice that i cannot use for instance "chris titus tool" to install stuff because it wants me to ceate a user login password , when I do this, it prints multiple times "error setting password" but when i restart the PC I can see that it created a new account somehow...

Is there a possibility to make a normal user account with this distributuion which is not admin by default?

very easy in fact, all you need to do is modify the autounattend.xml settings to create that user account and log into it... now whether it is for the best or not... are you using intel or AMD? (some ryzen processors have, or had, not sure if it has been fixed, a notable performance penalty out of admin account).

Have any of you try to install Dolby Access with GamerOs W11 24H2 (latest) preset? I can install it,, but when I click to open it, it sticks in splash screen. Dolby Access is needed to play some games with Dolby Atmos in a home theater (in my case Cyberpunk). No problem with DTS Unbound. Both are MS store apps.

Solved. Just in case any of you have the same issue, just remove "<c>backgroundtransfer 'Networking Background Transfer'</c>" from the preset.

A quick warning on going too heavy handed, even if you just a gamer, as an example the modding tool for FF15 (flagrum) has a dependency on webview2, in fact I have probably at least 3-4 apps on my system, that are either gaming tools or ,media tools that depend on it.
Yup. There are indeed modding tools and gaming utilities that need WebView2. One example is Satisfactory Mod Manager. There is a number of media apps too, like ImageGlass image viewer. More may be moving to WebView2 in the future, so it's probably wise to keep it.

If you own a copy of Process Lasso you can use its "Disallowed Processes" feature to keep the Edge and Edge Update processes from spawning unwanted and only update WebView2 manually when you need to.

Has any tried 25H2 with the GamerOS yet?
Honestly best to make your own after learning a bit. I have used gameros but only as a supplement to whatever I did before. I would say most of it would work but may have a few issues here and there.

Don't count me on this however

I don't think that's the problem. Some apps get confused if they're already running with SYSTEM or Admin privileges, and don't know how to handle the situation. There's a GitHub bug where installing Spotify from winutil triggers an error like this.

https://github.com/ChrisTitusTech/winutil/issues/2944
That is a known issue since windows 8.1, in fact. Spotify needs to be installed from a user account. from the programs I use(d) and Automated it was the only offender though.

I follow the following principle I only apply tweaks that I understand what they do. And that I know they actually bring some benefit. Even because the difference should be minimal applying these obscure tweaks that no one knows exactly what they are doing.

For me if a game runs at 60 FPS with good image quality it's more than enough. To play games better the correct thing is to buy a better video card :p
The custom ISO gives great performance. Getting 120-180 fps in BF6 with RTX3060 on low settings. 1080p. :p

I recently just created an ISO using GamerOS preset. I got it from his "Extreme Windows debloat" guide. Everything works pretty much fine on the OS but I have been running into certain issues I could use some help fixing. The first issue is installing Discord Desktop app. Everytime I install it, the app loads fine but I get a banner that says install was corrupted. Also the desktop app continues to tell me my microphone is denied, yet it works fine the browser app. The second issue I had was installing Nvidia control panel. I finally got it installed on the computer but it wont launch. Im clearly just having install issues on the os that im wondering if they're fixable. Any help would be appreciated
