How to Hide or Show Pages from Settings in Windows 10
List of Shortcuts to Directly Open Pages in Settings in Windows 10

NTLite will hide Settings pages for any features it removed.

You should only edit after booting the installed system, to see what's been modified. Once you have a complete list, then you can add a reg command:
Code:
reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer" /v SettingsPageVisibility /t REG_SZ /d "hide:project;emailandaccounts;signinoptions;workplace;gaming-gamebar;gaming-gamedvr;gaming-xboxnetworking;easeofaccess-colorfilter;easeofaccess-eyecontrol;findmydevice"

Note the correct syntax! hide:A;B;C;D

Hey Garlin, would this also help hide the issue I am having. Whenever playing a game it wants to use gamebar.ink. I removed gamebar and always get this error.

No, it only hides categories from Settings (like you don't want someone accessing it). It doesn't change any real functionality.
Basically it's the same thing as hiding a folder or a file in Explorer. The folder or file is still there.

Hello guys,

Apologies if this has been already covered but I could not seem to find anything relating to a globe icon issue when connected to the internet. I have tried looking around for fixes and tried modifying HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NlaSvc\Parameters\Internet.
I have tried changing the DNS keys to use google's DNS IE: ActiveDnsProbeContent - 8.8.8.8. Also I have changed the probing target to NCSI:

45be6cd0-ea53-4c05-8416-92d97e841e16

and tried disabling probing all together however that did not resolve the issue. Is there any presets I could use when making the custom image to allow for the Wi-Fi icon to appear?

I would also like to keep the winget utility in PowerShell. I have followed Chris Titus tutorial where he mentions "being able to use Windows Store without having Windows Store" however after pulling VCLibs and DesktopAppInstaller I am still prompted that I do not have winget when trying to deploy .NET framework.

Any help is appreciated and many thanks for all the hard work developing this tool and presets!

omg... finally after months i find the fix for per-app sound level of volume mixer o_O
we just need the reg path available, to open the way to SndVol32.exe (volume mixer)
with this, is able to save and store every profile for each app
no IE11 no Edge required

This thread has you export it from a working system. The problem is PropertyStore might be filled with other apps that won't exist on the clean install. You can try importing just those keys.

But I doubt it works isolated, without the Edge Legacy component. Let us know if it worked.

Don't modify any NSCI settings, it's a specific network test to download an expected text file from MS's servers. The more likely explanation is you removed a component NCSI needs.

Post your preset (minus any user passwords or license keys).

Happy new year everyone :)
The last image i created, thanks to the solid base of Txmmy is very smooth. (we can always do better but is good)
So, not much speaking, i put the preset and you can judge by yourself or give me more tips.
I followed every step, from the original multi version of Windows 10, then cutted out everything but Pro with reg of OneCore.
Then from this base i apply the GamerOS, and set my personal choice/upgrade/NET3/visualc++

this is some screenshot from a clean start, where only chipset/intel ME/LAN/Audio drivers was implemented:

And this the task manage after installation of most software
taskmngerafterinstalloffline.JPG

There is off course something not going as expected.
I dont know why but Firefox installer for some reason do not download anything and cant proceed to the installation (last month, during several others image tried)
The solution was switching browser, and i start to love Brave.
Brave works great, BUT there is the usual issue of the Audio resetting to 100% every start. No matter what i do, no matter what i try to fix it, tried to make a task for set volume at the launch of Brave Browser BUT NOT, is not possible because you can set the audio from a cmd command (or obviously manually) only when a sound is starting in brave, not when you open Brave.
This maybe is related to the new UWP app or something new?! maybe?! So, as garlin said, i select Edge Legacy with the hope of a fix.
Now i have, Edge Legacy+self created path (regedit) of Internet Explorer, where SndVol32.exe save per-app sound level
BUT off course is not sufficient to achieve my goal, because when i reproduce audio from Brave and see the slider of Brave in Volume Mixer and set it as i want, there is no saving in the mentioned path of Internet Explorer (regedit)
By writing this msg, i got an idea... maybe i can look for a similar path BUT for Edge ?!
I dont know, i want to know how is supposed to work in an original windows+brave.
I cant belive is supposed to reset itself to 100% every launch.
Maybe i need a profile registered with brave? Where settings is saved in cloud and loaded every login?
If someone know Brave and can help, is appreciated.

Edit: because i clear my cookies and site data every time i close Brave, also the volume of Brave was cleared  so... i fixed, dont like it so much but works. Now im curious if just the path in regedit of Internet Explorer + the cookies and data of brave,is sufficient to set "per-app sound level" for everything. Anyway, Edge Legacy is usefull for other integration, and for now im sit here, and maybe start to play with win11.

Oh, and another strange thing of this image was the installation progress.
I got stuck in "Just a moment" for literally 20minutes (in a hope of thinking was normal)
then forced a restart, and everything continue smooth with "Hi" "Lets everything to us" etc until the desktop load.
I was offline, and with the two "skipOOBE" set to false

garlin the path in reg is created by me, because from this clean installation there is no path.
And i can confirm, is growing up every new "per-app sound level" is set with Volume Mixer. Like was in the previous image without Edge Legacy.
The real question at this point is.
Without Edge legacy, and with cookies and data from site not cleared, the sound lvl of Brave is saved? Probably yes because depends on cookies and data.
But Legacy at this point is good anyway for other integration

Also
I do not set ESD compression, gone with WIM and got a clean windows installation (with upgrade) of 9Gb
Again, Happy 2023 :D

What did you all load up after the Ntlite cleaning. Your operating system just blew up to almost a vanilla os install?

What did you all load up after the Ntlite cleaning. Your operating system just blew up to almost a vanilla os install?
because of the long time (not finished) in "Just a moment" ?
i just load about 1gb of upgrades downloaded from NTlite + visualc++ from 2008 to 2022 + a language pack + NetFramework 2 3 3.5 with the idea of a system already retro-compatible and updated

Regarding the Sound level per-app
Edge Legacy is required because of the UWP apps (for now i see and tested only Brave/Chrome working like this)

For most of the software, showing sound level instantly in volume mixer, when is opened, Edge Legacy is not required BUT if you deleted Internet Explorer we have to create this path
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\LowRegistry\Audio\PolicyConfig\PropertyStore]
Where volume mixer save a profile folder for every per-app sound
Thats all from my test

Run a mile from that profile. It has no secuirty not even a firewall, it also allows third part scripts to run on your system with full permissions.(the creator is either young and naive or malicious in there intent),i could steal all your data with this profile on your pc. The only gainful improvement for gaming on windows would be disabling windows live protection.(Defender). If i where the dev here i would remove this profile. very suspect indeed.

These are fair points. But if you compare many custom gamer ISO's (or presets), they all commit the same mistakes. I'm not condoning their practices, but this is a community that frankly doesn't care about it. They're just as equally young and naive.
  • Some users will replace Defender with another product. I know 3rd-party AV can be installed side by side with Defender.
    They still don't care.
  • Some users don't want ANY security product impacting performance.
  • Even some non-gamers hate UAC prompts.
This preset's many shortcomings have been hashed over the now 22 pages. Personally, I find an open discussion is better for teaching lessons, than trying to shut it down and have the same people make their mistakes elsewhere.

If they're not here, then you can't try influencing them.

A bit of an exaggeration here.

not even a firewall
Windows Firewall is not removed.

What I agree with is that you shouldn't use an Administrator account, I don't know why people like to use that, besides everything running elevated even those who don't need it will have several bugs with several programs that were made during or after the era of Windows Vista. Example: Drag and drop files in VMware. Besides others that I don't remember.

There are so few UAC popups, this was annoying only in Vista but from 7 onwards it's quite acceptable. Much better than accidentally running a script that ruins your OS. But for those who insist on disabling it, it's much better to just disable the prompt:

In NTLite go to Settings -> User Account Control (UAC) -> UAC Admin prompt and put "Elevate without prompting"

And NTLite is an advanced tool, you have the freedom to remove things that will break the OS, it's your responsibility of the consequences. Those who use this tool must be aware of this.

i made a win11pro 22H2 with the ability to create user account during setup (offline)
with Firewall / Guard and Defender up
with a second language pack (already tested and works for the entire UI, not speech etc)
with edge legacy, upnp network discovery, reserved storage off, hibernate off post-install, compatibility for discord etc

Hope this time the fkng sound of brave is saved or i break something.. i was thinking i have been fixed with this issues and now again, no matter if edge legacy is up, he want some other thing for sure
time to process and i test

This time no preset added.

I have running Brave on slimmed down Windows 11 for some months without issues, no idea about where the used preset is left but I could compare loading the host Windows into NTLite.

i start to thinking about Sonic Studio3 was the cause
Its a combined driver+software directly from asus support
maybe is better a realtek or nvidia hd audio without SS3
