Install RTX 2070 drivers on LTSB 2016

It would be super cool to install RTX 2070 drivers on LTSB 2016. Yeah, I know RTX features would be broken, but for e-sport games that would be unnecessary anyway. And the fps difference between Windows 10 latest and LTSB 2016 is huge in the favor of LTSB.
Sorry for my bad English

a polished poo.
can you polish liquid version ?

so far all i've encountered are issues here and there.
Edge freezing, Cortana not doing what she was created for, and now to top it all off, i've got a malware infection that's from something called 'matrix-news.org' that keeps forcing popups. ( thank you microsoft edge and defender for NOT setecting it )

On with the ransomware methinks as all i've heard is bad about that org thing and defender is doing as much good as catching water with a colander

you need treatment .
bugbears aside the only real issue i got with ltsc is the systemsettings.exe buffer overrun bug but its enough to put me off(again).
dont need store and all the glitz n schmitz, i could be using xp.

How long Win 8.1 will be supported by NTLite? Win11 just coming, so 8.1 is very outdated. This is why I ask.
The problem is NTLite support for older builds of Windows is poor. That's what discourages. Some components are not completely removed (there are some shortcuts left in Start Screen). Removing Store or WinJS.2.0 or Setting Sync breaks PC settings. Neither Storage Spaces nor SmartScreen are detected to remove. Several scheduled tasks left.

Now that I've seen this again it makes me want to keep using Windows 10.

Feel free to report any bugs for review. Then nuhi can find a proper fix

I will report to nuhi and hope he fixes this.

I will do this but I believe nuhi is now prioritizing other things (Ex: Windows 11) but it doesn't hurt to try.

I tried this on Windows 8.1 update 3 ISO untouched. I will try to integrate updates and test again.

Anyway still 8.1 lited even with these issues is much lighter and responsive than Windows 10.

This with Superfetch removed. Without removing Superfetch can make difference in RAM consumption. On Windows 10 if you keep Superfetch memory compression is enabled by default and RAM consumption is around 320 MB but overall CPU consumption is higher.

AeonX 7 and 8.1 are similar in handles freds and processes when tweaked to a similar degree.
got a fresh w7 install - crucial mx500 500gb ssd(that has been flogged to death). started it up from cold this morning annd i was shocked how quick it got to the desktop, thats just with services and scheduled tasks tweaked, no removals. ive got similar numbers to your 8.1 with all drivers installed, nvidia control panel, 7+TT and Textify running. superfelch(sic) and any ms boot quicker crap is disabled.

ive recently posted some 1909 and ltsc task manager screen grabs to compare with my w7 TM grabs. ive seen w10 handles go over 40,000.
there is no damn justification for an os to be that bloated and resource hungry.
and some people say just install windows 10 and off you go like its the bloody holy grail of operating systems. its more like a puke bucket.

I can't use Windows 10 the way it comes by default. This is very bloated. The last Windows I used without changing anything on the system was Windows 7. After that Microsoft got lost in how to make a good OS for desktops. Windows 8.1 is acceptable as it is at an intermediate stage of transforming into a hybrid OS for touch screen devices but its UI is terrible. At least Windows 8.1 can still be used as it comes by default since bloat doesn't impact much on performance, what only bothers me are the useless apps that come with it.

AeonX 8.1 Embedded Industry Pro(comes without apps. its the one i use) or Ent. eye.eu.
my 8.1 tweak pack was built on EI Pro, use my w7 barebone services with networking file then just add 8.1 specific services to suit.

KikiGames I found some comparison tests that are relatively current between Windows 10 and Windows 8.1.

Windows 8.1 consumes 2 GB less RAM and 2 FPS less :p of course this varies by game.

Windows 10 vs. Windows 8 Gaming

Windows 10 vs Windows 8.1 vs Windows 7 in PC Gameplay

This test is not for games but it is interesting. Windows 8.1 won :)

Windows XP vs Vista vs 7 vs 8.1 vs 10 Speed Test

I didn't see much advantage in LTSB (1607) in this test below. The difference is 2 FPS more for LTSB. In other tests I saw the advantage of LTSB in games it was in DirectX 12 games but it was a somewhat old test. It may be that in 2004/21H1 this difference is not relevant.

Gaming Comparison Windows 10 1607 POTATO (LTSB) vs 2004 SUPERLITE

In my opinion it's not worth it to downgrade to LTSB because of 2 FPS. Future games will run better on the latest builds of Windows 10.

But if you have 8 GB of RAM (like me) it pays off a lot to go to Windows 8.1 for less RAM consumption in games :)

I installed Win 8.1 guys the next day we talked about it. So far Im very impressed.

In my most important competitive game I got +20 avg fps and +13 0.1% low fps. And 13 fps for 0.1 low is too high to say "It's just margin of error". Micro lags are gone strange screen tearing gone. (Same settings as in Windows 10)
System feels much snappier even without tweaking. Boot time is so fast, first I tought there was a problem or something couse the welcome screen was skipped so fast.

Is there any significant difference between 8.1 pro and 8.1 Embedded Industry Pro?
Is there still a charm bar and stuff?

Oh and one more thing. I love how easy to enable classic theme on Win 8.1 almost without problems. I use this theme on my 8.1 right now:
https://www.deviantart.com/slybug/art/Dark-Classic-Theme-361735679

Any tweaking suggestion to Win 8.1 that I can try and retest my fps for comparison?

KikiGames i have an 8.1 tweak pack in this post, use the services file in this post.
Embedded Industry Pro is missing a ton of store apps, its 8.1s ltsc as AeonX says.
it has charms bar and store(limited as opposed to w10).
8.1(any edition) is easy to tweak as w7 and has similar results in handles threads processes.
Embedded Industry Pro is a good os. think of it as windows 7 with metro :)

nuhi Is it possible Charms Bar/drag to corners could be removed? its intrusive and a total pain in the butt and the only 8.1 specific bugbear i have.

Maaan... You guys make me reinstall my PC twice a week. Hahaha :p

The only problem is... IM STARTING TO ENJOY IT!
I will try Industry Pro then. Is it hard to get a serial for it?
Thank you for the links Clanger!

If it's possible to remove everything Metro please do it nuhi!
I promise I will buy it as soon as I have money for this kind of purpose! If I would able to remove the Charms Bar with some click I would be more than happy.

Win 8.1 is feels like my dream OS after Windows 10. I was an XP guy then a Win 7 guy but as soon as MS started to force metro stuff I was a Linux Mint guy. But lack of program compatibility and the feeling that I can't play with some games with all of my friends forced me back for Windows 10. But tweaking Windows 10 to be comfortable, and enjoyable is (I think) impossible and make me mess with the OS every single day. Some day ago in this thread they told me to try 8.1 and after first boot I feel the big difference. 8.1 untweaked beat Win 10 on my own benchmark methods.

Oh and Clanger:
If you interested... I want to make a Windows 8.1 - 10 - 11 comparison and make a video about it. I will send you the link if you interested! :) (This will happen after first stable release of Windows 11 and after I move to a new city in like December)

dont give a stuff about comparisons/benchmarks, i know which os's are the best already.
besides i have my own stuff backlog as it is.

if w7 and 8.1 are working on newer hardware then it is our job to let people know despite what the dell/etc support johnnies say.

Normal users thinks: My PC/laptop comes with Windows 10, so It must be ONLY compatible with Windows 10 or higher.
I love Win 7, but the lack of offical support and no USB 3.0/other hardware drivers is a big problem for me sadly. I mean there are workarounds and maybe I could use Win 7 for everyday purpose but I can't give a pendrive with a tweaked Win 7 to my family couse what if my cousin wants a never game that is only run on Windows 8 or higher. Or buy a new printer or anything without Win 7 support. I don't want to be a helpdesk 0/24.
I think 8.1 can be a good family OS for at least 5 years. Or Im wrong?
