Not sure NTlite is the forum for my question.
But then just recommend me a place if you know one :)

I have created a system image with win 10 own function throug controlpanel.
Put it on a USB drive together with a boot recovery.

It works fine, but I would like to do it easier.

I have one disk in the laptop 110 GB (little small but can upgrade to 240GB)
System image is 22GB
( I have 20 laptops that looks similar).

Can I create a new partition of 30 GB and put the system image there, and then boot from that if the main windows is broken?

Can I do it with option that if you hit ctrl+F9 I will get a popup that ask me "do you want to reinstall your pc".

Or something like that...

You can use dism and create a actual install.wim from a current running windows build, and then clean that image with ntlite's cleanleftover's (1)
and then use that for re installation of windows, its like a backup but better going thru the whole install process as normal, here is a good starting place https://winbuzzer.com/2020/07/07/ho...updated-windows-10-recovery-partition-xcxwbt/ so once you get the windows setup as needed you can then use these steps to create your backup iso, i've been able to get one matching up with an official iso size, after comp os and cleaning junk out before creating iso

thanks... will have a look at the links.

Problem with system image is that it wont install on another similar laptop.
Only works on the one it was created on.
