How to set the Default Sort options for Folders?

Windows 11, by the way.
Right now, contents of a folder Sort and Group By: Date Modified. I would like to change the Default (system wide, regardless of the type of content in a folder) to Sort By: Name and Group By: None.

Can this be done with NTLite? (I have the paid version if that makes any difference.)

I would use LesFerch's WinSetView for managing all your default folder settings.

The normal way is to struggle with a long list of confusing registry edits, which are typically unrecognizable if you want to revise them.
WinSetView is a clean way to interpret the current folder views, and export the configs to an .ini file.

Command line support is available.

I'll admit his UI design is not the most intuitive, but if you run WinSetView out of the box and hit Submit...

LOL

I'm old school... if I don't understand what's going on, I don't hit Submit. So yea... I opened it up and hit Submit and it's much better. Still don't understand what I'm reading on the interface. Thanks. lol

*EDIT*
Well, sh*t... I spoke too soon. It made my right-click menu the Win 11 default again. pfft! It's always something with Windows.
Reloading the .REG fix put it right again. What a pain Microsoft makes everything.

No, you're reading the question wrong. Rabbit_Games wants to change the default folder views.

This is normally done by regedit, but typically you need to flush BagsMRU to clear any individual folders which have cached settings. Otherwise the updated folder view only affects folders not found in the BagsMRU cache.

It has nothing to do with the dictionary sort order, which manages if you sort digits by number, or alphabetically. That's a different problem.
Look in my screenshots for what's intended.

Try this reg file. Must be integrated in the image, or run from Post-Setup (Machine) before anyone logs on.
Code:
 Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags\AllFolders\Shell\{885A186E-A440-4ADA-812B-DB871B942259}]
 "Mode"=dword:00000004
 "GroupView"=dword:00000000

Shawn have shown that on Tenforum - how to take a backup of folder settings and reapply even user fumble around on their screen.
Just a matter to adjust code to preferred needs and if 10/11 to adjust for the new taskbar flyout.
Beside that, in W11 (3007) - when drag'n'drop a file in a folder you've to sort coz the dragged file will be in the bottom, and that's annoying.
Go out of the folder and go back - files are sorted?
Maybe MS wake up one day and start thinking it's about functionality - not about (C)Apps and design - which has increased the W11 installation by approx. 2GB.
