i aint that hard up for 72.70 Pound sterling(at current rates) and charging people for a pack with a couple of drivers is downright criminal. people freely share way more complicated stuff.

i am waiting for a specific b460 board to come in, the 560 equivalent isnt in stock yet and i aint buying any old 460/560 board.
if it works you lot will be the 2nd(and 3rd etc) to know.
Right! Standing By, then ;-)

Windows 7 64bit(ONLY) Chipset Driver Integration Packs for Intel 8/9th generation H310C(R2.0) and B365 Coffee Lake motherboards in progress.
Includes USB3, ME(driver only), Sata/AHCI/F6FLPY, UHD610/630. Note - will be hosted elsewhere.

Note - these will be tested on H310C(R2.0) and B365 chipsets ONLY.
Exact motherboard models will be given.

Will take another look at installing 7 and 8.1 on B460.
Splendid! ;))

Windows 8.1 64bit installs onto Intel 10/11th generation - Pentium Gold G6400 and Gigabyte B560M D3H.
No additional drivers needed during setup(built in MS usb drivers), just load the iso onto usb key with Rufus and off you go.

I need to fully update the install then check for drivers, MS(updates), Intel, Win-Raid and Snappy Driver Installer.
Once i have all drivers updated and installed and im happy then i can call it as "known working".

Windows 7 64bit installs onto Intel 10/11th generation - Pentium Gold G6400 and Gigabyte B560M D3H. But,,,,

I had to use a Belkin 5 port PCI(PCI, not PCI-E) card(NEC chipset)

1873151-xl-a.jpg

for the KB and rodent(wireless, Logitech) and w7 usb key during setup/installation then move them to the back panel usb2 ports. All ports work after install, back panel usb2 and usb3 ports, mb 9pin usb2 headers with a usb2 2 port back plate.

Have got 3 yellow bangs in Device Manager, one is Lan, other 2 are currently unaccounted for.
If i can get those 3 drivers i will do another driver pack but it will be for this motherboard only.
Users with other motherboards will be on their own if they try my pack.

Dammit, its an Intel GB Lan, i might have trouble here :(

Once Intel switch to their funky big/little cores it wont be worth trying to get 7 and 8.1 onto them because they wont know how to deal with them. Which will be a good time to give this lark up and just go with whatever os is officially supported on X hardware.

CEW hope so. ive got to do stuff in strict order and the lan driver issue is last on the list but i will look at that in detail. thanks for the link :)

edit - there wont be any news this week. i will do 7 and 8.1 back to back and have results and driver packs finished by the 31st.
will look into automating driver pack integration with a simple 1 click at a later point. edit - done. :)

CEW igpu? yes, on uhd 610 and 630 8th and 9th gen. there is a registry file in that pack which you have to add 1st, its basically a signed driver certificate in registry form. those drivers work on 8.1 too, i think, cant wemember.

there is a newer driver in the latest snappy driver installer, SDI, packs. download SDI Lite R1202.

some of the new 10/11th gen's use uhd 610 and 630 so its possible that you can use those drivers with w7 on 10/11th gen. i cant remember if i got round to that driver yet, but i think i might have. if it didnt install then i would have a mental note of it.

got an i3 10105F 65w coming saturday, £85 for a 4c/8fred chip, £10 cheaper at my other place so 75, thats a lot of chip for the money. 7and 8.1 will run very well on it :) the i3 10105 is showing at £105(due august), that will make for a very sweet low power machine.

Yes, I know the biostar drivers work on other machines,

but I dont know if the biostar drivers work on b365.

I am doubtful the biostar drivers would work on 10th/11th gen.

There are also drivers for 9th gen at the link above. password xiaofengmod

I have just bought an i5-8400, now contemplating if I should get a b365 or a z370 to go with it. I am expecting the biostar drivers will work on z370 for 8th gen.

the mobo chipset dont matter because the drivers depend on the igpu, not the mobo chipset. that said i know they work on an igpu on a b365 and h310c(r2.0) and a b365 board is going to be cheaper unless you find a z370 on special offer.

unless you find a z370 on special offer

Yes, there are some on a well known auction site that are pretty cheap second hand. I would have gone for b560 and a 10th gen, but I am trying to avoid using a separate graphics card for win7. I suspect the above drivers wont work on 10th/11th gen.

here are some things to think about before you go spending money.

installing windows 7 on b560 is a very hit and miss affair. i had to install the belkin usb to get usb to work during installation.
you stand a good chance by using ps/2 keyboard and rodent and an internal sata dvd drive. if you dont have those it is going to cost money to get them, and blank dvd's if you dont have any. in GB £'s thats gonna cost around £55. thats on top of buying a b560 board and cpu.

in my test 1 driver wasnt listed as where it should be on a b356 board. i dont know the full driver situation yet. i dont know how stable w7/b560etc would be in the long term but i know that windows 7 on intel 8/9th generation is fully working with all availible drivers and is rock solid stable.

if money is no object go for b560, cpu, ps2 kb rodent and internal sata drive and i hope it works.

if money is tight then dont mess around, get a new b365 board for your i5-8400, good ballistix 2666 ram and an nvme drive and you will have a capable system that is fast and stable. that is what i would do if funds are tight.

funds are tight or you wouldnt be looking at a used motherboard
8/9th gen and you wont be sorry :)

I am looking at a used motherboard because this is just an experiment.

If you like, you could try integrating the modded usb3 stack ( and the update) into boot.wim image 2 and the appropriate install.wim image. I think it will work for the B560. If you are able to try it we will know for sure.

Driver framework update windows6.1-kb2864202-x64.msu ( included in the zip ) needs to be installed as well as the xhci and (optionally) the uasp drivers.

If it works, then the belkin isnt needed.

So the remaining issue would be the igpu drivers.

no, i havnt used those drivers. what i have used and are included in my driver pack are the official intel usb3 driver pack for the boot.wim and the updated canonkong iusb3xxx v5.0.4.43 drivers for the install wim and everything works perfectly.

brain fart alert
canonkong iusb3xxx v5.0.5.55.

i will look at the pack you uploaded for w7/b560.
i will use any and all bloody means necessary if i have to

Yes, I see you have used canonkongs v5.0.55.
If the v5.0.55 didn't work for installing on the b560, then I think the modded usb stack will- it is from Win8 and can be integrated into win7 media with the diver framework update. . It seems to work for everything so far. Fingers crossed, if it does work on b560, it avoids the need for the belkin.

yeah, not every board has PCI slot but i have specifically chosen PCI slot boards so i can use those cards.
im building an up to date 8.1 image right now, on the next w7 test i do(monday) will be with that driver pack specifically for installation and the other drivers needed "if" it installs ok. might be before monday, see how thingez goes.
