Intel CPU Delidding questions

How reliable is a delidded intel cpu? I dont need to know about the actual mechanics of doing it, it is within my capabilities. I dont need to know about the cost.

This is what i am thinking of, Core i3 8100/8300/8350k, relidded using Akasa 455 thermal paste, not overclocked and using a good after market top down cooler in a case with good airflow. How long would it last me providing i dont overclock and have good cooling?

Just incase you ask, the reason i want to use Akasa 455 paste is i dont want to use a metal paste that may short circuit if i dont do it right and i had to seperate an A8 apu and cooler after 2 years and that soab was near enough welded to the cooler and i bent pins getting it out of the socket, even after warming the thing up with the fan disconnected.

I have done the heatsink removal by heating as you did (fan disconnected) and then twist it, all goes ok without bending pins.

It had the 455 paste and i swear it was welded on, it was twisting that caused the bent pin, i soon had that sorted out. At least the intel mounting grips the IHS.
