Hey, i'm really concerned abt if it's legal to use ntlite and modifying windows with it !
Can someone give some kind of reference that it's legal?

There are tons tons tons of microsoft guides to teach how to edit your operating system from iso (offline) or live.... There are IT departments or computer oem manufacturers that customize iso's and bulk install them on computers by deploying it. They are doing it as corporations... You are using it for home without bothering anyone, microsoft won't even know it, so you should be fine...

AS LONG AS you are not hacking into some dlls or integrating some kind of illegal activation tool etc it should be illegal to share or use it rather than your home.

Btw i am not sure about sharing it even without those things (activation etc) sharing always risky

2. Installation and Use Rights.

a. License.
The software is licensed, not sold. Under this agreement, we grant you the right to install and run one instance of the software on your device (the licensed device), for use by one person at a time, so long as you comply with all the terms of this agreement. Updating or upgrading from non-genuine software with software from Microsoft or authorized sources does not make your original version or the updated/upgraded version genuine, and in that situation, you do not have a license to use the software.

You're permitted to only use official images provided by MSFT or authorized partners (VAR or reseller). You're not permitted to use a random image found on the Internet to start your customization (even with a valid license key).

b. Device. In this agreement, “device” means a hardware system (whether physical or virtual) with an internal storage device capable of running the software. A hardware partition or blade is considered to be a device.

c. Restrictions. The device manufacturer or installer and Microsoft reserve all rights (such as rights under intellectual property laws) not expressly granted in this agreement. For example, this license does not give you any right to, and you may not:

(i) use or virtualize features of the software separately;

(ii) publish, copy (other than the permitted backup copy), rent, lease, or lend the software;

You're not permitted to share copies of the original media, or any customized images you make. You can deploy images on behalf of another party who already owns a correct license for their own internal use.

(iii) transfer the software (except as permitted by this agreement);

(iv) work around any technical restrictions or limitations in the software;

You're not permitted to modify the image to add features not available for that licensed edition. You cannot give Pro features to a Home license.

(v) use the software as server software, for commercial hosting, make the software available for simultaneous use by multiple users over a network, install the software on a server and allow users to access it remotely, or install the software on a device for use only by remote users;

(vi) reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software, or attempt to do so, except and only to the extent that the foregoing restriction is (a) permitted by applicable law; (b) permitted by licensing terms governing the use of open-source components that may be included with the software; or (c) required to debug changes to any libraries licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License which are included with and linked to by the software; and

(vii) when using Internet-based features you may not use those features in any way that could interfere with anyone else’s use of them, or to try to gain access to or use any service, data, account, or network, in an unauthorized manner.

Bottom line: You're allowed to modify a clean image if you own a license. You can't redistribute it, but you can share NTLite presets, scripts or instructions that allow other licensed users to perform the same work. Everyone must have their own OEM, retail or volume licenses.

soooo do whatever you want if you are using it only yourself. do not share it. only share guides and preset etc. don't share illegal guides tho
