Language alignment for NTLite

In order to "facilitate" the alignment of the various language files, I noted the difficulty of nuhi in reporting in the changelog - as I suggested in my post a few months ago - also the various changes, additions and corrections to the template.xml file, I wanted to summarize (forgive any errors) in the attached file the new strings added (add), modified (mod) and deleted (del), in comparison between version 8543 and the current 8641.

Thanks, but the idea of tracking language template changes are described in the /lang/readme.txt file.
Basically store your template.xml that was last translated, and compare it with latest template.xml, that will give you best overview, without searching individually per number.
Tools for easy differential checking are like WinMerge or BeyondCompare.

OK, or I'm missing something?

Dear nuhi,
this is exactly how I did it (comparing the template.xml but using notepad ++ and plugin "compare") and extrapolating the differences.

Anyway, thank you for the tip...

I think it's more useful to know what strings are missing from your language. Run this short PS script to find out.

Thank you Garlin,
but I know exactly which strings are missing (were missing) in my language; my Italian.xml file is perfectly aligned since the latest update, given the distraction of the official translator, is aligned (I suggested the last update).

Thanks anyway

As we wanted to demonstrate...
Between version 8640/8643 there were "various" strings that have been modified and that it is not possible to obtain with the suggested methods, except by comparing the old template.xml with the new template.xml and then updating the language file.
I am beginning to think that NTLITE has no desire to expand the catchment area, given the lack of desire to "help" the respective translators.

Why do you assume the negative? Based on v8641, the top 4 translators are mostly keeping up with new features.
If your language is falling behind, you can ask to join the translation team and help.

I'm not negative, far from it and follow me to make you understand my position (in a climate of mutual collaboration).

1) At each release of a new version of NTLITE the respective language files are (except of course "translate.xml) at least referring to the previous version. This clearly indicates that there is not much collaboration between developers and translators in the various languages.

2) Consequently, after each release, the various translators, if present and willing, align the variations, send them to the support and they will be inserted in the new version which may also contain new variations, etc. etc.

3) at this point, I would see much better a specific section on the forum, in which translators will be able to release any new aligned versions that the various interested users will be able to "download" and insert in their own version of NTLITE. They may also. the various end users, contribute to make the respective language files more "adherent" to a correct display.

4) in order to make the collaboration I mentioned in point 3) effective - and which I personally believe to be the only active and effective one for a development of NTLITE, beautiful and very useful software, I repeat - a privileged channel between developers and translators is clearly needed which includes a "two-way communication" on any changes.

5) Your table, which apparently takes into account only the translation lines, does not reflect the alignment of the language files with the strings, especially in light of the changes (as per the following table):

Personally, and Nuhi will be able to confirm this, given the "inaction" of the Italian translator, I had already sent the file aligned with vers. 8500

I reiterate and am available for any "action aimed at improving NTLITE more and more", also in terms of diffusion.

I hope I have been clear enough about my position (not negative but actually positive and open to any active discussion).

Friendliness
