Let Us Protect Components, Too

The compatibility options currently available to us are often insufficient.

I know we can protect files. *Please* let us protect specific components, too.

You could do that with an XML file if needed. Just let us add components to a custom XML file, and then "use" it to block those components from being removed.
 
This option already exists:

Although I would like to see this implemented in the presets.
