Windows could not update boot configuration

Hi,

Just acquired NTLite and am testing it out. Out of the Gate I am getting this error. This could be my error.

From inspecting the forum I see that others have run into this issue and I have tried all the suggestions in other threads.

When creating images I usually prefer UEFI, and started with UEFI and failed , changed the Image and BIOS to MBR, failed.
Cleaned the target disk - fails.

So I need some advice on how to troubleshoot

Some Info

1. The canonical MS image for 20H2 works. This was used as the base for the NTLite image
2. I have not removed any components from the image. I have applied some OEM customisations and created a local account.
3. I am using the template disk configuration with extended primary partition.
4. I have a post install step to onboard the machine into my RMM when we boot, but we don't get that far.
5. I am using an iodd virtual cd-rom as the install media. THis may be significant, not sure.
6. In the automate unattended section section for windows oobe , I skip EULA, local account etc, but keep the recommended legacy steps
7. Host machine is running 21H1 - could this be it?

This could be due to the age of the machine - I will see if there is a bios update (its a 5 year old HP Elitedesk with a new SSD)
I will try the image on a different machine and see what happens as well

Any further suggestions would be gratefully received!

Cheers

So you have Autounattend.xml in ISO root. I think it's related to automated HDD partitioning inside that you mentioned in step 3. Can you share your Autounattend.xml ? (Remove product key and related personal information)

Hi,

Thanks - I have attached it here. I look forward to learning what mistake I have made! Quite impressed with the capabilities of the product and want to start using it seriously asap - it will save me heaps of time.
