News and Chat

One way to go about it is using non-DCH drivers, but that's been getting harder and harder as time goes on. Another way, which I find preferable, is to get your hands on some OEM xml licenses (Dell is a good place to look) so you can have the UWP apps preinstalled 100% offline and working.

If you missed the lang pack thread, this MS doc has direct downloads for the FOD ISO's. Those are the OEM/partner images.

I didn't like Plutomaniac's reply when asked if someone else could mirror the content. Internet Archives has backed up the postings, but not the linked downloads. Now if someone could scrape the Mega & OneDrive shares...

really? strange. Fernando seems positive.
that would be a helluva lot of downloads to grab although not overly massive in total size.
prolly end up with a drivers on request sub forum somewhere.

3.5gb, big or small in your opinion? i doubt thats everything posted at WR, i would have said larger, couple terabytes worth at least.
if IA can archive the whole site pages only and people can see what drivers they need people will always share on request. google-fu can find most things.

That's small peanuts to back up. OneDrive free edition is 5 GB.

The real issue is we know Win-RAID's repository (to our best knowledge) is untampered with. Assuming no trusted figure takes over guardianship, then we will see skeevy knock-off sites. No offense but like *.ru/*.ua hosting with the opportunity for state-actor level driver hacking.

Whenever I download from Win-RAID, will try to confirm it's authentic by locating original sources from other sites or Internet Archives, and in my experience -- Win-RAID versions check out. If not a binary match, they do after extracting and doing a file-by-file comparison.

I get they're tired (where's Discord boy??). But not wanting to bless a new guardian is disservice to future generations.

something will turn but it wont be centralised which was the whole point of WR, everything in 1 place.
samsung dont even list a driver for my 1tb 980 but i know there are sammy drivers at WR. if anywhere had it WR did.
agree with everything you said. Fernando put a lot of work into that place.

hell i could host that lot on my mediafire and i could store them on a single side dvd.
i think the current whole lot will be mirrored by a lot of people.

How can I install 7-Zip in silent mode?

For exe installer: Use the "/S" parameter to do a silent installation and the /D="C:\Program Files\7-Zip" parameter to specify the "output directory". These options are case-sensitive.

For msi installer: Use the /q INSTALLDIR="C:\Program Files\7-Zip" parameters.

i dunno about that, above my pay grade. run its installer, sniff its output with reg from app, add that reg file to ntlite and the program file folder to a mounted image. or use $OEM$ and run the reg after install.
