Working for me, heres the blah blah blah

Earlier this month, Microsoft had said that starting from April it will begin notifying Windows 7 users to upgrade to Windows 10 considering the user-favorite operating system is going out of support on January 14, 2020. Microsoft has started rolling out a fresh new patch today for Windows 7 that enables these reminders.

Microsoft writes in the release notes of KB4493132:

After 10 years of servicing, January 14, 2020, is the last day Microsoft will offer security updates for computers running Windows 7 SP1. This update enables reminders about Windows 7 end of support.

This will again push the Windows 10 upgrade alerts on Windows 7 machines. However, this time these alerts won’t (hopefully) nag you like the last time as the company has promised to show them only a handful of times and give users control with a “Do not remind me again” checkbox.

Released in October 2009, Windows 7 will no longer receive security or support from Microsoft after the end of support deadline since the company is moving on to focusing its “investment on supporting newer technologies and great new experiences.”

The Windows maker said it “strongly recommends that you move to Windows 10 sometime before January 2020 to avoid a situation where you need service or support that is no longer available.” If you are worried about paying for Windows 10, several users have managed to upgrade to Windows 10 for free by using their Windows 7 keys.

Old news but still worth a mention.
Fernando of Win-Raid has retired and Plato (a.k.a. plutomaniac) is the new owner.
Win-Raid has been a goldmine for driver related stuff so thank you Fernando and enjoy your retirement, you have earned it.
Good luck Plato(plutomaniac) and thank you for taking over. :)
The site has had a bit of a makeover but still retains the old layout.

Microsoft adds telemetry functionality to July 2019 Win7 Security-only patch

"Microsoft included the KB2952664 functionality (known as the “Compatibility Appraiser”) in the Security Quality Monthly Rollups for Windows 7 back in September 2018. The move was announced by Microsoft ahead of time.

With the July 2019-07 Security Only Quality Update KB4507456, Microsoft has slipped this functionality into a security-only patch without any warning, thus adding the “Compatibility Appraiser” and its scheduled tasks (telemetry) to the update."

Microsoft Acknowledges Another Bug Brought by the Latest Windows 10 1903 Cumulative Update

"The problem has now been added to the list of known issues of the latest update KB4507453

In the latest of these is a start up problem where some devices fail to start with users getting the 0xc0000001 error. Here is what Microsoft said about this latest problem:

Devices that start up using Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) images from Windows Deployment Services (WDS) or System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) may fail to start with the error “Status: 0xc0000001, Info: A required device isn’t connected or can’t be accessed” after installing this update on a WDS server. "
