No network access

What am I doing wrong? After setup completes and I create the profile, the Windows Store complains of no network access, yet I have protections enabled.

Any help?

Using VMware in Bridged networking mode.

Hey Adam,

The first thing I ever check when I'm stripping, is to check if I stripped my network card driver, check if you accidentally stripped your network card driver, it might help, you can also try to install your network card driver by searching it.

Hi,

to have "Network Discovery" (settings - network map that is on the screenshot), enable that Compatibility next time in the Components - Compatibility.
And enable Hardware List - VMWare compatibility as well, to protect common VMWare drivers.

I've just purchased a license to attempt to create a slimmed down vmware only iso. I went to compatibilty, checked both vmware and network discovery, and then straight to Apply, and check create iso. After the iso is created, I create a fresh vm and install using that iso. Once I get to the account, there is no network access (using bridged mode networking in vmware). I install vmware tools for drivers (making sure). Without networking it's not usable :( I'm attaching my exported session... any help would be appreciated.

jamesl, I would gladly check it, but the attached preset does nothing.
Can you double-check if you maybe sent another one.
See in the root of that installed ISO for autosaved session XML, if multiple ones were used you may also find the correct one on the NTLite Source page, right-side list.

The attached one does nothing to the Windows image, so whatever you would experience by installing this exact preset+original ISO would be a Windows official behavior.

Ok, thanks for the reply - found the attached xml in the root of the setup folder.

Thanks.
That preset removes the Store, so the network connectivity issues it might have are the least of its worries :)

In other words, please enable Windows Store compatibility after loading that preset, and then the Store works, tested it.
It protects many more components needed for it to function.

On the other hand Search in the tray/start menu seems not to work with your preset, will check that these days.

Let me know if I misunderstood the thing about the Store/connectivity.

Quick follow up. I did as you suggested, nuhi. Imported the preset, then added store compatibility (only). Immediately created the iso, and did a fresh vm install. Internet works as expected, thank you. Windirstat reports 10GB used, almost 8 of that in the windows directory. Firefox runs fine, but may not have shared folders working - I'm checking on that.
Thank you again for your help!
