Windows 11 22H2 update integration error 0x80070422 [1058]

This problem only appears when running ntlite on windows 11.
In windows 10 no problem, after update the size of the image stays at 4.81gb.
To be clear, are you saying the same NTLite version works correctly on W10 host, but doesn't on W11? Or using the same host, but different results for W10 & 11 images?

Howdy i have done testing all that policy registry and found out that it was causing the actual DISM error 0x80070422 [1058] that the services is disabled.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU\AutoInstallMinorUpdates 0-1 when set to 0 Ntlite cant use DISM shows the error above now set to 1 back everything is fine took a bit of time of testing those keys.
Yet still did not find nothing about DISM cleanup to make it work in Win11 still testing that!!
Thank you!!

I have same problem.
Dism clean-up image not working in windows 11.
Original Iso 4,8gb, after update and cleanup resetbase, it 6gb :D

Howdy if your using Ntlite under Win11 use the Ntlite 2.3.2.8526 version that works atleast worked fine for me using it just for DISM cleanup update then use the up to date version to make changes to the image.
You will have to integrate using that version 2.3.2.8526 and use DISM to clean up.
If you did install the update using new versions or other type of Ntlite than 2.3.2.8526 will not clean up the image but i think this will apply on every other version.
I know kinda weird combination to use but still works out and it will not brake the image like MSMG did so yeah Ntlite DISM is still safer even on older builds atleast thats how i feel.

tks bro ! i will try it.

that's right sir !
Can you re-read the question? There are two possibilities:
1st says changing the host makes a big difference.
2nd says changing the Windows version makes a big difference.

"Yes", doesn't tell us if it's case #1 or case #2. Thanks.

sorry sir I didn't read carefully.
case #2 problem with me :D

on the same computer, when running ntlite on windows 11 it will get an error, but windows 10 no problem.

DISM is practically the same on both W10/11, if you're current. The only difference is how .NET is handled for W11 22H2.

Faster. Smaller. Windows 11, version 22H2 update fundamentals

Reduced disruption

When there are fewer steps to perform, it generally results in faster installation. That's another product of redesigning how inbox, non-system apps are modeled in the UUP collection of files. In our internal, lab-based testing of canonical feature updates, we see an offline time (i.e., when the user cannot use the device) reduction of 30% when compared against Windows 11. We estimate we'll see ~21% reduction in offline time when measured at the 95th percentile.

We've also reduced disruption by integrating .NET Framework updates into the UUP based feature updates. Starting in Windows 10, version 1809, servicing of the .NET Framework moved from the Windows cumulative update to a separate, .NET Framework cumulative update. This change gave IT pros more control over the testing and deployment of these updates, separate from the OS cumulative update.

For Windows 11, version 22H2, we've integrated .NET Framework updates into the UUP based feature update. The result is one less reboot required after moving to Windows 11, version 22H2. Why? Well, before this change, a device would install the latest OS feature update via Windows Update. Being UUP-based, it would also include the last cumulative update as well, to let the device get current in one step. However, since .NET Framework is a separate update, it would not automatically get installed. Instead, once the new OS was booted, a separate scan against Windows Update would detect and install the .NET update, unfortunately requiring another reboot.

Editor’s note: The integration of .NET Framework updates with the Windows 11, version 22H2 feature update is coming soon.

Thanks for the feedback.
Do you have an exact image + updates + settings combo for me to test that?
I'm asking as in your existing preset there is no such tweak set.
Don't forget any REGs if you're integrating, try without those first.
What would help is also logs at the moment of the error with the latest version, %temp%\ntlite.log and ntlite_dism.log

Howdy no just download the latest Win11 22h2 clean no tweaks Ntlite Dism /comp does not clean up the superseded links this does not happend when using Ntlite any version type under Win10 21h2 22h2 only under Win11 even 21h2/22h2.
If you want me to make some images using Win10 then using Win11 i can do that but there will be no DISM error this time just failed superseded that will not get removed after DISM.
About the tweaks yes i made my own right now and it is integrated in Win10 22h2 latest maybe missing this Feb update but Ntlite works as should no issues at all i use the same tweaks for Win11 22h2.

With some settings and services disabled/enabled is the same also secure boot,TPM,security services, mitigation complet removed kinda ASLR disabled, policy settings for update and other settings have no effect for Ntlite under Win11 to make DISM work dont get me wrong there is no error this time it all goes down smooth but the superseded wont get removed.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU "AutoInstallMinorUpdates" 0 disable 1 enable this was disabled and this was the actual cause for the DISM error so after remove/enable it fixes the issue.

Howdy i hope i did not missunderstand you nuhi.
Here is the DISM log with error and one that completed no error but fails to clean the image and left with a bunch of superseded.
This was done under Win11 22h2 i will re done this under Win10 where DISM works as should and maybe can compare the two.
Thank you!!

Edit:
Add Ntlite 2.3.2.8526 Dism log also just in case same done under Win11.
Add Ntlite latest version using it under Win10 22h2 Jan latest update and as expected all worked fine as the Ntlite 2.3.2.8526 did under Win11 22h2.

If there is something else that i might do im willing to try out.

BAZ.Andreas the superseded is still being listed inside the updates and bloating the image..... am i correct ?
Yes 100% your correct but only under Win11 and the only one version seems to work fine is 2.3.2.8526.
Under Win10 i can use what ever Ntlite version i want DISM Cleanup comp/resetbase does the job.
Also found out something weird i have this service disabled Application Management under my Win10 cuz microsoft optimization services be like saing that you dont need it but some how under Win11 if i disable this Ntlite Dism error pop up weird again this does not happend under Win10.

Dism Cleanup:
Howdy tested this compatibility mods W7/W8 not working.
Disabled Compatibility from group policy and services plus ahcache service what brakes windows kinda half way but still no fix.
Disabled background work brakes start and search but no fix.
Disabled and removed Windows Defender with scrip and Ntlite no fix.
End up with a change up from System32\Dism folder with Windows 10 Dism folder just for fun still same.
Found out that i can use CMD for Dism with commands but this still fails to clean the image:

Dism /Get-ImageInfo /ImageFile:D:\NtliteWin11DismCleanupTest\sources\Install.wim
Dism /Mount-Image /ImageFile:D:\NtliteWin11DismCleanupTest\sources\Install.wim /Index:1 /MountDir:F:\test\offline
Dism /Image:F:\test\offline /Cleanup-Image /AnalyzeComponentStore
Dism /Image:F:\test\offline /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
Dism /Image:F:\test\offline /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase or /Defer
Dism /Unmount-Image /MountDir:C:\test\offline /Commit

Than i start to dig more but i cant find any Dism related registry keys like if they are hidden.
Later broke the system with this 2 services cuz i tought ok security can go.... Services\WindowsTrustedRT/Services\WindowsTrustedRTProxy.
At this point i think Windows 11 is to blame, ill keep on testing still.
Thank you for your time!!

Howdy everyone

Now i dont know if it was the new update for the Windows or NtLite new version.(Also did disable UAC to when i did the test)
