No, I'm thinking of making a W10 barebone but it's hard when it's not like w7. Then I do not get the same fps in games, as I talk about in a different thread and I can not solve the problem :/ but everyone say w10 is so much better, faster, more secure, more support, better for new hardware and so on, dont know what to do.

But there is a Tab in NTlite "Extra Services" I wanna know more about it and what they do and which one I dont need. :O
 
Question. Is there a technical reason for you to switch to windows 10, like new hardware that doesnt support w7, ie AMD Raven Ridge APU's?
 
The world wide wait is full of opinions so here is mine. Opinions dont mean diddly squat when you know something for a fact. I know and trust my own judgement and what i see with my own eyes.

Unless there is a technical reason for you to use windows 10 like unsupported hardware or specific software requirements stick to windows 7. I amnot going to list why i think you should because i have probably mentioned it before. I still keep up with w10 developments so when i do have to switch for whatever reason i will be able to whip w10(any build) into shape pretty quick and without too much swearing. Besides w10 may have changed beyond all recognition by then or there may be a new windows os.

Worry about that when you have to, get on and get crap done with w7 in the meantime. :)
 
As for those Extra Services i have looked at them but i dont know enough about them so i leave them well alone, i can get good results from other areas. :cool:

Lite preset for Windows 8.1 Update 3 ready by monday. Estimated install size is 5.4GB using a modified version of w7-lite-v4.

Windows 7 with w7-lite-v4 is 3.7GB.
Windows 10 LTSB lite is 5GB.

It doesnt look too good against w7 but compares favourably with LTSB and i havnt even removed that much yet.

W8.1 test preset v2, 4.8GB estimated install size. Most Apps removed unless they are required by Core Metro Services. Might go back to the V1 configuration at 5.4GB, let users decide what is crApps and what isnt.

W8.1 has native usb3 support. Slipstreaming usb3 drivers into w7 isnt difficult. AMD isnt supporting w8.1 on Socket AM4 and support for Socket FM2+ chipsets stopped in april 2017.

If i was you ultraform i would look at the driver situation on 8.1 for your hardware very carefully.

Best opinion i can give is stick to w7 and hope ms improves gaming on w10 and worry about it when you have to. Ignore w8.1.

denywinarto Tell me which w10 build number you are using please. Nice of amd not to support w7 on raven ridge, 1 is an acpi issue, b, no god damn display drivers for it. Thanks lisa su.

I took my w10 presets down because Kasual was going to take over the presets so i took mine down creating a gap i hoped he would fill. :( He is knowledgable and had some good ideas but i know he is stretched very fine.

W10 is a bitch to shrink because it is very breakable and a lot of people like the store stuff :rolleyes: and ms havnt given me a lot to play with.

Give me your build number and edition and if i have the iso i'll get to work. I have much better access to iso's now. ;)

I see, the minimum RR requires is 1709.16299
Anything before that would cause graphical bugs
I'm using the unstripped version (with all possible modifications) for pxe booting
and i'm struggling with lags and too many unwanted processes.
So id thought id shrink down the image a litttle.

btw I noticed i need another license upgrade to remove the locked feature hmmm..
I don't mind upgrading but since im an existing customer it'd be nice to have a discount code ;)
 
1709 pro, i'll have to get that one. Will have preset up on post no1 by the morning. I used to run my own business, discounts dont pay the bills.
 
1803 may fix performance issues. W7 presets are easy, for w10 i build a preset for a specific build number so im gonna compile 2 presets, 1 for 1709, 1 for 1803. Thats gonna take time because i got to d/l 2 isos, load and compare them. Plus i gotta get some zeds.

Im waiting for ryzen 3 2300x and 5 2500x because i wont run w10 unless its absofrickenlutely neccessary.

have you already made 1803? If so i'll try it,
Hmm It's not just the hardware, sometimes popular games and applications are asking for win 10
