Clangers Presets - Closed

I don't know. I duckduckgo'd for it (I try not to patronize Google). I recently saw nuhi tell someone to do a command line reset for dism. Maybe you're locked out of doing that from inside an NTLite'd windows if you don't keep this setting?

Yep. It's my official conclusion. Windows Games will not stay in as set in NTLite.

In NTLite they are set right. But in the System they are irraticly present, missing or not working ( At least in VMWare)

You added urlmon.dll the hard way. (And I don't know if the wildcard asterisk is supported in NTLite.) Go the Compatibility box at top left of NTLite (after you've loaded an image), and on the right side, where it says "Protected File Patterns" and enter urlmon.dll where it says "Enter file path end." I didn't give mine a directory. Just the file name.

Worked for me.

Protected File Patterns shows the asterix in the example but not once you enter a file and its path.

I dont know how exact an xml file has to be laid out so i only edit a preset xml occasionally and carefully, usually only components.

Mebbe he didnt run cmd line with admin priviledges.

You set it from Protected File Patterns which is on the lower right of the components page, not from Compatibility. Because its a dll then it might need to be Registered after installation. Some dll's need to be registered, some dont. NTLite will have removed any registrations it may have in the registry as part of the removal process.

Here is a registry file to add register/unregister to the contect menu for dll files. Remove the .txt extension, forum doesnt allow the .reg file extension.

Edit - Reg file moved to the preset pack.

Another thing is that on multiple WIM editing at once Some Games settings get lost or set to a full games install:
And Windows Page file is set to disable by default. I do use it on my Lappy for Sleep and I do use Hibernate (yes I know it's evil :p ),
so I want to let it stay on with defaults ( I have to add Preset to every WIM separetly because it seems to make it's own decisions :p And I have to Correct it on each one).

And Yes I load the preset I changed the last time I unticked and ticked the boxes I want.

Update: 03/01/2018

When doing multiple WIM's with one Preset Games don't exist besides in the first WIM you Load!
You have to add them from "Programs and Features".

*** Never the less only Solitaire and Spider Solitaire work even on the first Loaded WIM image!

To apply the preset to all images, in Apply you need to check the boxes for the editions in the same images.

Post-Setup does not allow to do simultaneous WIM configuration? It's just grayed out.

Keeping 32-bit urlmon.dll as well in the next version, got to the same conclusion while testing something else. Thx.

Hi nuhi: I hope you're making more progress than I am. I backed out most of Clanger's presets in an attempt to get Features to work, but Win7 still barfs when I try to remove anything. (I wonder if there's a way to do a diff with vinalla Win7 before Feature Removal and after?) Hope you have a threadripper with about 20 VM's on it, where you can run 20 instances of NTLite in parallel to speed up experimenting.

:) Feature Compatibility will be added in the next update, so until then pre-configure features in the image before/with removals.

Problem with multiple parallel testing is the human focus, not easy to keep track what is being tested and where to go next, so it's faster to go narrow, max 2 VMs.

Just for clearing up what boxes I tick in My NTLITE Win7 Nov 2017 iso folder.
See picture.

Seems correct?

When Services: "Themes" and "Desktop Windows Manager Session Manager" are turned on and Windows is at least in "Windows Basic Theme" the following Windows Games are Working (except Minesweeper.

Yes it seems weird to want those. But some people still use those for simple mind wandering and a little sharpening (mostly older end-users).

Do you saw any error popup or tried to close all the other games before minesweeper?

@Kasual
No errors did pop up.
Yes. I closed all other games.
This Games glitch seems to be a thing when doing bigger removals of System components like Wmp and IE etc.

The preset not applying to all WIM's correctly seems to be another.
Yes I understand that Home Premium and Basic have less components. But at least the presets that can be applied should do their magic.

Let me know if you need some additional info about the ISO I'm using to do my x64 Aio.
