It was an image from about an hour before. Nothing changed in hardware. I like your theory about the NIC being temporarily offline for hardware glitch reasons, except that Activation worked immediately after running a real time chkdsk on the partition that NTLite was on. (No reboot.) So some kind of glitch in the file system (even tho chkdsk didn't find any errors) that prohibited Activation? Strange.

Check Power options incase your current power plan has a power saver setting for LAN. I doubt it but its worth a look. Check here
Is your lan driver up to date? Most likely a digital brain fart.

I just upgraded the OS drive on my Win10 box from a spinning HD to an SSD. Now I have to reactivate NTLite.
