Remove Link Arrows (Shortcut)

Oh, i dont know for certain, have a long hard look at the Settings page. I know you can(might be dependant on the OS) change the size of shortcut arrows with winaero tweaker(you might be able to remove them), making them smaller and less intrusive helps though :).
Think the arrows are part of windows shell and cant be removed without modding the shell files, which is what we dont do or discuss here.
Making them smaller though(especially on the Desktop) makes them less annoying.

Actually this article is wrong. Many users who follow this outdated advice can get their icon caches corrupted, and end up with a black square in place of the link arrow after a reboot. There are complaints on multiple forums that it happens.

Instead, follow ElevenForum's instructions for replacing the arrow with a transparent icon.

1. Download and extract Brink's ZIP file.
2. Load your image in NTLite, click on Explore mounted directory.
3. Copy blank.ico to \Windows
4. From the Registry screen, add the reg file.

You did very well with this clarification (I remember that I had tried what I reported, for testing, a couple of years ago) because I had to "search" for this link on my PCs.
