Scheduled Tasks removal, NTLite 2.3.2.8500+

I think it's ok to share presets,
Bloody aggro i had when i shared my w7 64bit 1.26gb preset. Wish i hadnt bothered in the end.
"does this work, will that work?" ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Better to share a bunch of tweaks and let users get on with it.
I have been credited with wayyyyy more knowledge than i actually posess.
I am "home user plus" and thats it.

I don't have snipping tool or paint in my system :) only prntscreen button i use and paste it to qimgv
Paint is ok for basics, resizing an image to post online as it loads wayyyyyyyyy quicker than gimp, ive resized summat in paint n saved it before gimp has finished loading . Windows(7) photo viewer sucks monkey balls. A gimped Picasa beats it hands down though crypticus's suggestion looks good. W7's snipping tool is good, can run portable and be used on w10 1809 .

be carefull i am not talking about gimp, i am talking about qimgv. qimgv also has resize crop etc features and its fast as f**k. paint is not even close to it.

They turned off event log "WMI\Autologger\CloudExperienceHostOobe" at the same time.
Just disable it?

WMI\Autologger\CloudExperienceHostOobe (controlset001) has multiple subkeys with an "enabled" and an "EnableLevel" entry.

Still cant create a new user account, no typing .
Its a default install, no removals and no other tweaks, just scheduled tasks. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I cant do no more with this .

If I'll have to resort to schtasks for just disabling tasks, and many people want disabling instead of removing, then yeah it's not a problem.
Having problems with creating new user accounts after disabling scheduled tasks on ltsc 17763.2366, Live post install and normal user account created during Setup, not the Administrator account.

Disable tasks, restart, control panel - user accounts - create new user and the user account app opens but i cannot type or paste a username into it.

Its a full default install, net 3.5 enabled, net 4.8, nets 5 and 6, no removals no other tweaks.
Its deffo one of the other tasks causing the problem but i dont know which, seen a few possible candidates.
Backed up the tasks registry location so i can easily add them all back at Defaults.

Note - LTSC 1809, .2114, Update Orchestrator task and service are linked, disable and stop the service then disable the task, the service will re-enabled the task otherwise. im expecting the same on 2021.

Im thinking that Disabling only and having their default reg entries as a backup is the safer option for most users.
Could get away with deleting the tasks aswell but do not delete the folders, maybe.

\Microsoft\Windows\SoftwareProtectionPlatform\SvcRestartTaskNetwork - You can disable this. It will only run when a new network is detected but if you leave SvcRestartTaskLogon enabled which runs every log on I see no need to leave SvcRestartTaskNetwork enabled as well. Maybe this is useful for someone who has a KMS server on the same network but I'm not sure. KMS_VL_ALL by abbodi disables this.
If he disables it then thats good enough for me.

The link contains the keepers only. here.
Ran into the usual w10 hiccups, finished file will be uploaded later tonight/tomorrow hopefully. grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Now i remember why i loath w10.

  • Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Features
  • Double click on DWORD TamperProtection to edit the value.
Not seeing an entry for it.

Tamper Protection was backported to pre-1903 builds but they don't have updated control settings. MS expects you to use Endpoint Manager (hahaha). Just create the missing DWORD.

Tamper Protection (like WDAG) was created as an Enterprise feature. Eventually they trickle down to Consumer, where everyone whines how bloated Windows has grown. This is why IT pro's get all the policy controls first, then everyone translates them to plain reg tweaks.

I don't recommend disabling time sync, the Internet doesn't like a broken clock. If you want, increase the polling interval but NTP is barely a blip on system resources.
