From version 2.3.2.8500 the tool now has a ‘Scheduled Tasks’ removal page.

It's right there in the link :)
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Schedule\Taskcache\Tasks
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Schedule\Taskcache\Tree

Clanger, posting this as you saw it in the pre-release version or a big coincidence? :)

nuhi only prereleases ive had were the 2/3 Preset/Templates build tests from last week/week before, .8429 .8433 and .8434. just coincidence i think :). that said my posts on Tasks may have put the flea in your ear, who knows :D

Deleting or Disabling scheduled tasks would be bloody great :D

nuhi actually, i got a recommendation for LTSC 1809 scheduled tasks here somewhere, if i can bloody well find it .
Ha! i bloody well found it hahaha.

Note - 1809, Update Orchestrator task and service are linked, disable and stop the service then disable the task, the service will re-enabled the task otherwise. im expecting the same on 2021.

:) I see... removal is being added, disabling is a bit trickier as tasks are protected from editing.
"schtasks" as far as I know is not working on images.

Thanks for the tip, we'll slowly expand as the feature is done.

"schtasks" works in setupcomplete.cmd, sometimes :(. Thats why i do them Post Install and Elevated from Power Run. I can do Lite/Disable only or Full/Barebone and users can choose which they prefer.

I write Tasks files for myself so i am going to write a new one for Post Install on LTSC 2021 anyway(today/weekend), once that is done i will do one/something for a mounted image.

What i am thinking of at the moment is load the registry in the tool then run a separate cmd file elevated to delete the registry entries and the files and folders.
As i do them you will get them 1st :)

Yeah, but the goal of NTLite is to do everything directly, not just call binaries.

Exception being the update integration/installation, for which it uses DISM libraries, intentionally for variety of reasons.
But because of returning removed pieces of components, I'm reconsidering of making the updating engine...delaying that decision as much as possible.
Always some downside relying on external binaries, less flexibility.

If I'll have to resort to schtasks for just disabling tasks, and many people want disabling instead of removing, then yeah it's not a problem.

Thanks.

Yeah, i was just thinking of a temporary solution. I think the majority prefer to disable only and doing it all in the tool is best :). just need some maniac(  ) to make recommendations of the minimum tasks needed and a system still behave itself. I enjoy doing them   hehehe.

Post-setup runs as SYSTEM privilege, not as Administrator. Those permissions don't always overlap, check each file using icacls.
And the mounted image is often TrustedInstaller.

Nuhi, this folder
c:\Program Files\WindowsApps\NVIDIACorp.NVIDIAControlPanel_8.1.961.0_x64__56jybvy8sckqj\
(I think) remains the property of TrustedInstaller in fact by installing the NVIDIA drivers - installation completed successfully - the control panel does not open (impossible to read ...)

Is this somehow related to this topic (Sheduled tasks)?
If not, please attach or send me the preset, or better yet make sure not to remove Bind Filter component, and potentially enable App Compatibility, since that Nvidia Cpanel is now an App.

I don't think it's related ... forgive me the intrusion ...
Tomorrow I will check the info you have provided me and if anything, always tomorrow I will attach the preset.

Thanks
