Chibibowa is a highly animated active member of the NTLite Discord, and recently posted a video tutorial on preparing his ideal Windows ISO.

This video is for more experienced Windows or NTLite users, but follow along if you want to learn more about the modding process. Chibibowa explains many tips and tricks which can be helpful in setting up your own Windows.

It's right there in the filename. !regfiles_pw_reg.7z

If you don't password protect a ZIP file full of reg files, some security products will mark it as dangerous.

You're missing the point. It's presented as one the few YouTube tutorials that actually goes deeper into technical details. Whether you agree on the final ISO, many users can learn something useful in the process steps.

There is no "perfect ISO" because everyone has a different standard. Your ISO may fail someone else's requirements.
 
The heart of the matter?
If it were "one of the methods of preparing an ISO" and not "preparing a perfect ISO image" it changes the meaning of this.
"There is no perfect ISO" and there won't be, I agree one hundred percent.
You can't "eat your cake and still have it", and the advice that is shown can be done faster, easier and better.
Even if it is just an example, with three applications, the system disk usage is almost 20 GB!?.
What did he add there "a ton of coal"?
More advice and better ones can be found here on the forum by anyone who needs them.
You also give this advice and it's GOOD

Many users have requested video tutorials, because of language difficulties or they learn better this way. Of course, every content creator says this is "my ideal ISO". Every single video.

Chibibowa initially shared it on the NTLite Discord, and I reposted here. The thread's title only reflects what Chibibowa named it on YouTube.

Don't confuse everyone's goals. You may want to have the lightest ISO possible, someone else wants a fully functional ISO. This forum supports many users, from the hardcore gamers all the way to IT folks prepping images to pre-install Office.

Complete fake - you can hear is smoking the hike during the video. Out of scope.
 
Interesting video, he can get round the power profile problem by exporting his profile, and when importing again you can specify the GUID, so you can then add a command in ntlite as an example to import the profile with a specific GUID, and then of course you have the same GUID everytime to add to the group policy. Also was surprised he didnt have visual effects pre configured via ntlite.
 
NTLite will have an upcoming feature to directly import a power plan as your default, so you don't have to do two steps in a row.

The real-world probability of a GUID collision are so low, it's relatively risk free to specify an arbitrary GUID.

how safe is the file that he hosts as a finished iso? Is there a way to manipulate the iso with malware? And if so, how can you check/scan it?
 
The point of sharing the tutorial is not to take his ISO and install it, but you can learn from his overall build process and understand how different source files are added to the image.

You could skip any of the steps you're not interested in, or replace the content with your own trusted downloads. NTLite allows you to make those choices instead of being stuck with whatever an ISO builder leaves you with.
 
Yeah I know, I also played around alot with ntlite to build a iso, the problem is sometimes you remove something and other thing is not working and I had alot of trial and error. So I just wanted to use the iso from him for a change, suprisingly (or not tbh) the iso works very well, no problems very good performance and has no bugs for a use of 2+ weeks. In the end I think it's way safer to just go for a template from NTlite and use it. But yeah I am just lazy lol.

baz, what does it take to get an iso image that small? Was that accomplished with NTLite? I've spent many hours trying to get Win11 24H2 LTSC IoT down to a minimal image that can run a single .NET app as the shell but the small ISO I can get is still only ~70% of the original and 12GB installed and/or it doesn't boot/install.

The last guide I see to make a minimum image with NTLite is for Windows 10 LTSB 1607. https://www.ntlite.com/tutorial-for-creating-and-testing-a-700mb-windows-10-iso/

I need to use the licenses I have for LTSC 24H2 Ent IoT...

I do appreciate a good video guide but I was hoping for some more minimal presets.
