Installed the March 2019 Windows updates & Windows Defender definitions.
Now, I get a User Account Control (UAC) prompt that ntlite.exe is blocked for my protection. (Sample image taken off the internet)

  • This happens on both a Domain joined & workgroup machine
  • This happens with AVG & Windows Defender installed
  • NTLite could run before installing the updates, while the updates were downloaded & ready for installation in Settings app.
  • Can't run it directly from the Start Menu
  • Can't run as administrator directly from the Start Menu
  • Can run CMD.exe as administrator and launch NTLite
  • Note, this does not apply to the installer (NTLite_setup_x64_beta.exe) but to the executable to run NTLite
  • Windows 10 v1809 build 17763.379 (before removal), no luck
  • Tried removing KB4489899, no luck
  • Tried removing KB4487044, no luck
  • Tried removing KB4464330, no luck
  • Windows 10 v1809 build 17763.1 (after removal), no luck
  • Will try rolling back Windows Defender definitions
  • Will try disabling App & browser control

  • Can run CMD.exe as administrator and launch NTLite

Workaround
..., e.g. create a shortcut:
Code:
C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /k "C:\Program Files\NTLite\NTLite.exe"
Properties on shortcut and set Run as admin.

Please download the latest version (v1.8.0.6761), it has the certificate removed for this reason.
