Aa cool, thanks for the suggestion, will lower it when using post-setup, if the default 30second is understood exactly why.

aviv00 Rather than open a new topic everytime a user wants to contribute a tweak would you be willing to open this topic up to "User Contributed Tweaks" so they are all in 1 place? :) or nuhi We have a dedicated tweaks /topic sub forum? You could either add the tweaks to the tool or let users browse the topic and let them add them by which ever way suits suits. :)

Yes Nuhi. Can I add a box full of reg tweaks here. I mean I have about 300 of them, if not more. Some for Windows 7, 90% for Windows 8.1 and some for Windows 10?

Saaglem That was the point of me asking aviv00 if he wouldnt mind opening this topic to all users which he was kind enough to do.
Are they all clearly labelled especiaslly the windows 10 ones, what build numbers they are known to work on etc.

Hi Clanger. Here are some to help you along with the windows side of things. ALL that I post have been tested.....those I think will not add value I will leave out. The description of the title warrants the purpose of the reg file.

I use a program called NLoam from virtual tech to create me little exe programs to do the installation of things. It can take ANY thing and create a exe of it. It's free but I don't think the creator is around anymore. I have a copy of version 1 and 1.2. Some little programs don't work today anymore but through manipulation they still do. I took version 1's dll and added it to version 1.2 and it still works for me.....then I add it to windows pre-setup load

Interesting but a bit out of my league i think though i did manage to create a silent installer for wmp10 once :D

If users are combining multiple registry/batch/cmd files into their own big super tweak then on occasion they may find that some tweaks may not be applied because of limited permissions(even with the Administrator account). Drag your required tweaks reg/bat/cmd file onto Sordums Power Run UI and execute from that and even something like greyed out services are now fully availible. If you are using tools like Everything or 7Zip(file manager) they can run from it too. :)

I run several reg files and executables on startup and afterwords. But it is splitted up into sections. My biggest problem is that I sometimes fined a nice tool....run it and it works. Then finding the reg keys with regshot and add them to their own section....these sometimes screw up and I need to sif through them to find the culprit.....and that takes time and multiple installs and rip's. Right now my tester machine is running fine with all of the above disabled......the only difference is it is not registered or activated. Reg files on a super batch works fine if you push them with a batchfile and the spaces between the regkeys are with 2 or more row's. To many can be skipped yes...thus the reason I run them in sections. I'm having a look now at Sordum.......I will give it ago. Always up for new things to learn. Thanx for that Clanger.

I usually put a timeout between sections on bat/cmd files, expecially with Scheduled Tasks, alter the registry in 1 place and it affects2(?) other locations so a pause gives the os time to sort itself and not get flooded and confused.

My 8.1 use to run like a clock on steroids and every tweak I integrated worked flawless. Only this 10 gives me headaches. But....I got medicine for that.

I use RegFromApp quite a bit, run an installer/regfromapp, harvest any reg edits the installer makes, save, run the program executable/RFA, save then combine both reg files into 1. Copy and save that programs Program Files folder and add it to $OEM$ foilder, run the reg/bat/cmd file and the program is pseudo installed and all your required file associations set as you want them. Sod messing around with post install silent switches and getting the buggers to work.
