More of a curiosity question.
I was working on my friend's computer. English US is our language. I used NTLite Live to remove some foreign language fonts but didn't remove all of them. (Too lazy to copy my personal preset to use on my friend's.)
After that, I used Windows' Font control panel app to remove/delete the rest of the foreign language fonts.
Some fonts deleted without complaint.
But, to my surprise, some of the foreign language fonts would not delete (or sometimes the normal face would delete but the bold face would not), giving an error message that "This font cannot be removed because it is a system font." (Or something like that.)
I know how to get around that, and I can remove them using either NTLite Live or Safe Mode or Force TrustedUser account.
But I'm curious why Microsoft thought that bizarre squiggly foreign language fonts should be system fonts for US English users. They are not "Default Fonts" according to NTLite. But apparently System Fonts?
