Hi.

I am unsure on why windows hello won't work in this config with the attached error.

Is there a weird language file association like searching icons breaks if you remove the GB language file?

Any ideas?

Are you sure the right drivers are installed? This message is because Windows thinks your camera doesn't support IR.

Hello Garlin. Yes. I use the same base of drivers for my computer.
It is something I stripped. Was thinking also It might be an AI component or something weird.

Since my camera doesn't have Hello Face support, had to order another.
Give me a few days to replicate this.
Until then if you have a working preset, let me know and I can try to guess which removal it is - or let's wait, I needed this hardware for testing anyway.

Thank

Thank you SO much!!
You are amazing!
No stress. I am traveling anyway.

I attached one that works for me and I am using now.
But it is way less things removed here.

Thanks, checking the preset difference, unfortunately no obvious causes.

Potentially disabled Windows Update driver updates and integrated Drivers, stretching it.
Also bit suspicious is Disable background apps in Windows 11.reg

More info once I get the hardware, if replicated, it will be easy, otherwise remember these above when retesting.

Thank you for checking Nuhi.

I may not have used that reg in the file. But activated it on current setup with no problem as well as other setups.

I could try to disable driver updates in windows but that is nothing I have done in my other setups neither.

Thank you so much for your time and looking into this issue

Finally the camera arrived.

So at first I did see what you saw in the first post, even on full Windows.
I then installed Logi Options+ for this particular camera, updated firmware, went to Windows Update and installed Logitech USB driver that was listed there.
It's somehow important for Windows Update to tag the camera, or install necessary files.
So don't test this on an offline machine.

Then after the reboot got a notification from Windows that Hello is available.

Went to enable it on your non-working preset from the first post, and could not set it up, it gets stuck (but it does not look like Hello is not supported, it tells me to setup a password, and then tries to open face recognition setup but it cannot).

The needed component is 'Windows AI Machine Learning', keeping it, Hello Face setup started.

Basically make sure to run Windows Update, install any prompted drivers, reboot, don't remove 'Windows AI Machine Learning' for now, will check if possible to remove most of it, or it will be added to the Biometric support compatibility.

Let me know if that helps and if you have any more info.

This is everything.

Thank you soooo much for all this effort and research.

As I am not a big fan of "AI" on my computer I hope that maybe we can remove it in the future.

HUGE thanks Nuhi! Amazing work as always!!

Hello again.

Just got a chance to confirm it works with the Windows AI Machine Learning. So all good so far. Thanks again Nuhi!

Thanks.

Released an update, you should be able to remove 'Windows AI Machine Learning' without breaking this now.
