NTLite Forums

So, not to sound disloyal to nuhi, but I took a quick look at MSMG Toolkit, since 1) I just read about it here in the forum and 2) they just released v8.

I don't understand why it's supposed to be so good. First, it's not obvious to me that it's going to install my RAID drivers, which, if you look at my posts in the archive forum, were hard to get installed. (Had to remove all storage drivers and install the AMD .inf in both the main wim and the boot wim.) NTLite installs my RAID driver easily, once I understood what I had to deselect first.

Even if MSMG can install my RAID driver, I looked at its Removals. It only removes a few things, which NTLite can also remove. (E.g., Paint. Hyper-V.)

(I didn't try the Package Removal stuff - there was a dire warning about breaking things and I didn't want to try it. I read in the MajorGeeks readme that it can remove IE (like NTLite). Don't know which does it better. I lean toward nuhi.)

The last thing is, I was worried I might get stuck with mounted images if I didn't do things right. (The "old timers" here might remember that even NTLite had trouble earlier with leaving mounted images if a user (like me) goofed up.)

And then, if I understood it right, you have to convert your image from an ESD to a WIM?

So I don't think I'll be changing over. But I thought I would ask others why MSMG is such a big deal?
