Will upgrading Windows with an ISO with removed components remove the available components on your PC?

For example: I have Windows Media Player on my current OS, and what happens if I upgrade my Windows with an image without Windows Media Player component removes the WMP on my current OS?

No, upgrades will only install new components or replace existing ones. They do not remove other components, unless it's an explicit action that's been programmed. For example, W10 and 11 upgrades try to forcibly uninstall IE11 because it's unsupported.

If for some reason you're without WMP, you can download the Media Player FOD packages and re-install them on a live system.
