How do you install it ? frome DVD or USB ?
If usb, is the usb memerory a usb 3.0 ?
or you install it in a uUsb 3.0 port without Integrated USB 3.0 driver ? I got this error if I use Usb 3 memory stick or port without driver integrated,
but still works on Usb 2 memory stick in Usb 2 port.

Hehehe :D. I keep my sandisk cruzer blade usb2 key permanently in a usb2 port. The only real downside is the slow write speeds copying the windows files to it. I have never measured install speeds but it blazes past optical media.

You could try integrating USB3 controller driver into boot.wim (and install.wim for after setup) to overcome that.
But not guaranteed to work with all drivers, easier is to switch to USB2.

Yeah, I made that mistake once. (Using a USB 3 port.) The strange thing is that the computer booted off the USB 3 just fine. But when it got deeper into the Win7 installation process, I got the screen above. (Took me a half day of trying different things until I figured out the problem.)

For reference, that error also occurs when setup.exe file in sources folder is different from setup.exe inside boot.wim/index 2/sources

Sounds like someone else also learned from experience.

I thought that NTLite was automatic about making the setup.exe file in the sources folder be the same as inside the boot.wim sources. So, out of curiosity, how does one get into this erroneous state?

It should, if one updates the boot.wim with a cumulative update for example, I don't see any updates in his boot.wim preset.
