I used NTLite beta v1.8.0.6842 to remove windows defender and other apps. When i try to install the update KB4495666 from windows update i got this error 0x800f081f.

The original poster's preset + CU fix is uploaded.
As for others, let me know if there are any remaining issues with the build 7036.

Lemme ck, I'll revert soon today.

I just checked with 7036 and its exactly the same error. This time I only removed windows and system apps and did no other modifications. After it installed I applied latest SSU and 145 CU without problems. I then used the remove reinstalls option without problems, rebooted, tried installing 175 CU but it failed with same error as SM03's error.

I just did another test with 7036 and removed the same windows and system apps except this time I left Windows Defender and Microsoft Edge(removed edge dev tools). Exact same problem after using remove reinstalls. Preset attached.

I did another test hoping it would help you. I removed the same windows apps but this time I only removed one single system app (Content Delivery Manager). I repeated all the same steps and received the same CU failed error. I'll do one more test and remove the same windows apps and only one system app other than Content Delivery Manager. I'll try AADBrokerPlugin to see if it happens again. Is it possible the Remove Reinstalls option is somehow causing the CU failure?

yes, reporting OK this time with my preset at least, thanks nuhi 1986

7036 seems to fix the latest CU problem for me at least. No error when updating and basic lited image is even smaller than before without cleanup for sysprep/copyprofile.
Anyway i noted one thing, and that's fax don't get removed in first run + everytime i load the lited image there's 2 Settings options going to be set again:
<Tweak name="SmartGlass\UserAuthPolicy">0</Tweak>
<Tweak name="SmartGlass\BluetoothPolicy">0</Tweak>

Attached my first and second preset.

Thanks a lot for the effort making a great tool for us Windows slimmers

Did you update to 207 after you installed?

Nope - but i do from before have no difference (1803 etc.) - testing via NTLite is fast as i don't don't use WM and have always worked before after install too. So i'm confident it will too when i've time to test in reallife in my short sparetime in fortcomming weekend.

What I'm asking is did you use the remove reinstall option after u updated and then try to apply a cumulative update again? If not then it's not the problem I'm having. My problem is that I can't apply a CU after I use remove reinstalls

Oh i see - don't get to that part yet - my first problem was, i couldn't even update to latest CU which seems to be fixed after removals offline and i still have to test in online with 7036. But usually offline test show the same result as online as i experienced so far.

Thanks, will check that scenario today.

OK, fix for Remove Returns tool released in the build 7046+.

Thanks @Windows 10 User (in an earlier thread) and mentro for reporting it.

Let me know if there are still ways to provoke this type of error, otherwise as always please open a new thread.

Just letting you know nuhi that I tested it with 18362.1, updated to 145, ran remove reinstalls and updated to 175 successfully. Ran remove reinstalls again, updated to 207 successfully. Thanks for your help.

Still seems remove reinstalls have a challange with driver section
