Intel Graphics Control Panel/Command Center - Windows 10, Windows 11,

I've attempted a minimum W10 (for my standards, I'm sure some people here could shrink it even more by taking touchscreen, miracast adn such) this weekend, and it installed successfully. Still have to attempt UWP drivers on it, but I'll do it tonight and see if it works. It has no Hyper-V or other virtual machine support though.

I don't know what the "new UWP panel thingie" is.

Here's what mine looks like. (First image.)

Really, I don't know what I need the GCP for. I don't need Promotions sent to me. And I don't know if enabling Gaming or not makes any difference. (I am about to run a benchmark to check.) It defaults to Gaming. Is that a problem if I don't have GCP?

I primarily fought this with NTLite simply to make sure that "everything" worked with my 'Lite'd Win10, in case something about GCP affects anything else I might install later.

I will make an image of my Win10 and then remove Hyper-V again with NTLite to confirm if that breaks my version of IGCP. Standby.

I have used ltsc with a dch drivver(without control panel) and things work fine. I do like the Brightness setting because 10s white windows is very bright and i can turn it down with IGCP, i dont need to rotate and i dont know what the (older)IGCP is capable of. I will have a bit of time free from tomorrow night for a day or 2, lemmy know if you need anything :) My free time is going to be very sporadic for the foresable.

Well, I didn't want to let Intel inspect my computer and "optimize" its graphics settings (as Intel GCP offers to do for Gaming). So again, there is no reason for me to have the GCP, except as a check to make sure that my 'Lite'd Win10 is compatible with most programs.

I tried removing Hyper-V using NTLite (from root - I've found that that seems to work best). It hung when trying to remove "containers."

I have seen this before when the Intel GCP is running. I checked Task Manager. It's not running. But will reboot and try again.

Even tho NTLite didn't gracefully close, it appears that it removed enough Hyper-V that Intel's GCP no longer works for me.

So I've confirmed that, for me and my version of Intel GCP, Hyper-V is needed.

I wonder what happens if I disable Hyper-V in my BIOS?

I will restore my previous image and see what happens.

Ive seen reports of the dch igcp not working when installed anyway. The only downside i can think of to not having it is brightness and contrast and rotate(for text writers).

That you guys are using Intel Graphics Control Panel is likely the reason for that. Uh, the app has been discontinued in favor of Intel Graphics Experience. The name is a bit of a mouthful, hence why I call it 'thingie' or IGE.

"UGH" would be a better acronym, it is all flair and essentially the same functions of the old one, it is just that the old one isn't supported anymore.

Its sheep and wombats now  I wouldnt give a toss about brightness if i could find a decent dark(but not coalmine picnic) theme. :(

My buttons are inderneath and i cant see the damn writing/labels. :( Wonder if iiyama has a wotsit for desktop

Huh, my dell monitor (U2419H) buttons are underneath as well, but mine pops these speech baloon like labels on screen when I press any.

I can get new asus gt710 silent cards for under £40 but i prefer simple systems and igpu's suit me and work well enough. Handy if a gpu card dies on you too :)

Going to have a nose round dell see if i can find the latest driver package w/license, will mediafire if i find anything.

Downloading that now. I wanted to find a dell setup specifically for a 9600k and g5420 cos i aint got no beef adding the dell package post install if i dont have to faff about adding packages if the dell does it all.

file name - 7db73ba2a71143e28dc9df9a634243d2_License1.xml, i'll mediafire it tonight. Daft downloading 824MB for one little xml file.

Every license.xml is paired against the same-named package - 7db73ba2a71143e28dc9df9a634243d2.appxbundle
