Back? what does he mean back? it was never here? its been done by 3rd party people before only...

first impressions:
they only become groupped if you launch fom + sign which can be better to keep old usage style of windows
it could be nice to manually drag and drop to combine or seperate tabs
they have too much gap at top of tabs
they can't be moved if you grab them from the gaps of the top of tabs, which is actually the window itself so they should have been moved that way... or else you need to find an opening to grab... and if u have too much gaps, its going to be hard
feels laggy

news:
+new window layout snap at the center of screen
+notification center now has "dont disturb button"
+calender has focus mode with timing on it (you need msclock app for it) so no more deletion of it if u want focus
+volume controls are at center bottom of screen

Does anyone know, when will features like "focus mode and new don't disturb mode, and maybe new task manager, tabbed folders" etc major changes will come to stable builds?

edit: also new folder icons

W10/11 have switched to annual release cycles, so expect 22H2. Realistically that's early October, since OEM's need to build machines before the end-of-year shopping season. No one wants to upgrade a brand new PC.

Today I realised my microsoft store history is all cleaned up. I mean all free stuff that is NOT installed is removed from there. And I like it since there were no remove or hide options for them... Candy crush etc was annoying to see there..

Then i find out, it happened because i logged in to my microsoft account in microsoft store. before that it was showing download history linked to my HWID. and now it shows download history linked to my account (which was empty since its my first time i logged in with an account to store) and they are not merged which is also nice for me.

So if anyone else searching for a way to cleanup their purchase/download history on microsoft store, i suggest using a dummy/new account.... hwid and main account can get messy if you are not carefull. and unpairing hwid or manually hiding/removing history is not possible :/

MS is technically correct, if you're on Insider Preview the A/B feature control gets randomly turned on. Windows has a scheduled task to dial home and resync the feature settings. There's a Azure ML (Machine Learning) service which picks the lucky winners of A/B dogfooding.

I would bet you can enable the ad through mach2/vivetool.

Start Menu folders can look like iOS.
https://www.ghacks.net/2022/03/19/whats-new-in-windows-11-insider-preview-build-22579/

The new Media Player app that replaced Groove Music, has a new option in the sidebar, Audio CD. You can use it to browse tracks on disc-based media directly from the program. The CD playback option is available in version 11.2202.42.0 of the app.
If you haven't, check out the WMP thread on sideloading this app on normal W11.

The File Explorer Tabs that users could activate using ViveTool in Build 22572 no longer works with the latest build. Trying to re-enable the option gives an error in the utility. This was an unannounced feature, the fact that it has been removed suggests that it was either not ready even as a hidden option, or was causing other problems, like the "unintentional ads" that were displayed in the previous build.

Getting this message while trying to do an in-place upgrade from one of my desktops equipped with 2nd Gen i5 2500K+Intel DH67BL mobo from W10 21H2.1620 to W11 22000.469 (modded via NTLite latest version to bypass the TPM & CPU system requirement).

After accepting installation is in progress as usual

What does this mean? If I install W11 in this system then I won't get any LCU or other updates via the windows update channel? Or is that just Micropsft's way to falsely warn & enforce the users to buy new hardware?

P.S: I did the same in-place upgrade from W10 to W11 via this same iso in different systems a couple of days ago, one shaving 6th gen CPU & another one is having 7th gen CPU so far, never got this message earlier

Update:
1st installation done from 1% to 100% with no issue, then rebooted automatically & in post screen started installing

after sometimes, it showed this
2.jpg

& finally, after automatically reverting to W10, & after logging into W10 again, this message appeared on the desktop
3.jpg
Error Message:
We couldn't install windows 11 0x8007042B 0x2000D
the installation failed in the safe OS phase with an error during migrate_data operation

Any suggestion/advice related would be appreciated, thanks.

I think if you install W11 on unsupported device WU doesn't get any updates. There might be workarounds if thats the case.
For exp; abbodis update installer scripts, or manually installing updates via dism commands might work. can't test because i don't have old system
