Windows 7 Up to Date ISO?

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has a fairly up to date ISO for Win7 x64 pro/home premium. I know the purpose is to do it oneself using NTLite, and I have before in the past.

However life right now is just to hectic and I have about 4 or 5 PCs (all win 7) that are due for a format.

Let me know if possible.

Thanks

Yes, download the updates with wsus offline from here:
http://download.wsusoffline.net/

On the right side, in the blue rectangle, click on the 11.0.1, the 9.x is an extended update for xp only, i didn't download updates for 7 (yet) but i did for 10..

Also a guide here.
Short summary would be use one of the mentioned tools to get the updates (WSUS Offline, WHD or WUD).
Add the downloaded updates to the Updates page after loading the 7SP1 original ISO edition.
In case of WHD, I would skip the Extra and Additional folders, except .\Additional\_IE11

Then press Analyze on the Updates page if enabled. Ignore the SP1 (KB976932) message, that will be fixed.

Once finishes processing, you can use that same ISO on a stick to install on all those PCs.

Thanks guys.

What I really meant though, was if someone had made an up-to-date W7 x64 ISO already for their own use that they would be willing to let me download. I know sounds lazy, but time is just something I don't have at the moment. When I do though, I will be sure to give it a go.

Cheers

Is not possible, that is known as piracy from Ms eyes because ISOs shouldn't be 'illegally' distributed.

Anyway, if that would be legal, i don't think we use the same language.

What i can do, is share a preset file for updating your own ISO, the preset file can be shared and used by NTLite, NTLite will protect from deleting the ISO's language when the language in the preset doesn't match the ISO.

You don't have your own 7 SP1 ISO?
Download easy with the info listed here, by choosing your language.
Don't know how to download all the updates the fast & easy way?
Check my previous reply.

Ya I figured as much. I have my original W7 DVD and W7 SP1 DVD and ISO, I did make an updated ISO about a year or so, but I can't find it, probably deleted it by accident.

Either way, sounds good. Thanks

OK

So all downloaded. Now how to proceed integrating all them with NTLite, and what folder do they all reside? Are the other things like IE and .net, etc. in the same place as the regular updates somewhere in that WSUS directory?

Thanks

The downloaded updates that you can integrate are in \client\ glbwin64 or win64, the updates are in .cab and .msu .
.NET is in another folder and can't be integrated, as silverlight, is in other folder but can't be integrated.

How to integrate with NTLite, load Win 7 SP1, go to Updates on the left panel, on the toolbar, click the arrow under Add button and select folder, browse to the updates folder and double click for select.

In components you can remove some components with free license and more if you purchased a license.

I think i'm gonna do the same and disable updates (don't search for new updates in settings or remove it with windows defender).

Good luck.

Thanks, found them.

ISO is slightly over 5GB though, be nice if it could fit on a DVD, so now going to have to learn how to shrink it down.

Use ESD format instead of WIM in the Apply tab, it compress more then WIM (maybe 33% less after compression), you can remove folder 'Support' next to folder source.

If you must use single layer dvd discs then the maximum capacity is 4.3gb(using nero8). I dobackup iso's(burn) to dvd but i use Sandisk Cruzer Blade usb2 keys for installation, they are relatively inexpensive and damn reliable, i don tuse any other type :).

To convert ISO to USB, use Rufus, its probably the most reliable free conversion tool available. https://rufus.akeo.ie/ This app does quite a number of checks to verify the flash drive will indeed be bootable if the iso is. I would recommend the following settings:

MBR partition scheme
filesystem NTFS since your image will likely end up being over 4gb.

Using Rufus to do that ? Have you succeeded in doing this? Why did I fail on the burn?
but i don't think it is very easy to do as the process of burning is difficult to complete,
The reason is here : https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/how-to-burn-an-iso-to-usb-flash-drive.598291/page-2

Not sure what you mean by "succeeding". I always do it and never had any problem. You select the USB, the ISO and click on start. Nothing else. You didnt specify your problem with it.

BTW using pendrives is highly recommended. You dont waste DVDs every time and on top of that the installation goes much faster.
